I needed a bright headlamp for night time-kayaking, and this is superb for that, and many other uses.Light level easily adjustable, rechargeable, comfortable on my head, also great clipped to my belt or free standing (w/ strong magnetic base) for other uses. Lamp is L-shaped, making pointing it at the work easy. It doesn't have a red light setting, but for my application, I don't need one.

Incredibly bright, blindly bright but multiple settings make it functional! A little on the heavy side when mounted on your hard hat but not unbearable. The light clips on and off with ease, I keep the pocket clip on the bottom side of it for when I want to illuminate an area and not use my hard hat by hanging it off my shirt pocket. I’m able to use it to hunt for components while attached to my hard hat or use it as a hand held and inspect components in tight spots. The light holds a charge for a full 12 or 14 hour shift with plenty to more to go!This light is a must have for any inspector or nightshift who doesn’t want to stumble around in the dark.

This is my 4th light of this category and easily my favorite. It has enough battery to power through knock-down drag-out jobs from crawl spaces to telephone poles to unlit service corridors seething with wires. The battery just keeps going: 18650 isn’t enough. 21700 does it.The body has girth and heft that fits my palm and is significant enough to actually not leave it behind absentmindedly like two previous lights that claimed featherweight as a feature. This light is a bit heavy, but it’s a good thing.Light is rugged, no problem klonking it to a steel pipe upside down by its magnetic base. Or dragging it through a crawl space in my fist. I’m not worried about scratching the body or lense.The clip is anemic: too thin a gauge for this lights heft and it doesn’t fully engage a pocket without some manipulation due to a tiny tab that gets in the way at 2/3 seating. Clip sucks.All the SOS and strobe function programmed into it is stupid and pointless. It engages as I force my way through jobs, disturbing bystanders and interrupting my work flow.Fix that clip, get it right. Lose the disco strobe crap. And stop anodizing tools BLACK meant to be SEEN in the DARK. I am not role playing a Delta Force assassin. I am not camping with this and don’t want SOS. I am not at a riot trying to antagonize police with the strobe. That’s what Mace is for.This is very nearly a perfect light. I’d like to buy another to have on standby for when I lose this one because it’s invisible if dropped.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very Bright, unusual size battery, gets really hot, but great light
I have multiple headsets and many flashlights. This is one of the brightest compact units I have ever seen. You can hold it in your hand, you can use it as a headlamp or you can attach it to metal surfaces as the bottom of the light is a magnet! Super bright, oddball size batter so you really need to use the USB charge port instead of other NiteCore charger products. It does come with an adapter to use standard 16850 batteries (which I have many, even from Nite-Core), but the big battery does last a long time. I just wish it would not get so hot on the highest setting, but hey, that much light does make for some serious heat... trade offs.

I've had a few other headlamps and this one blows them all away. They really did a great job of thinking of everything with this one. I almost didn't order it because everything I have is 18650, but I'm loving the additional battery life this one has. The only thing I'd like to add that it didn't come with would be the ability to run a red lens or a pop on cover for a red lens. Otherwise it's a great light.
2.0 out of 5 stars Good Flashlight, but disappointing compared to what I've come to expect from Nitecore
I'm rethinking my love of Nitecore after this one. Other older headlamps I've had from Nitecore have been amazing quality. So I was expecting the same of this one. However, this model doesn't hold a charge very long, only stays on the high setting for a few second, and the batter that came with it felt poorly made and doesn't fit in my Nitecore charger. Also, why have they not moved to USB-C by now? Brand new out of the box it has been touchy about charging too. Sometimes it charges, some times it looks like it's charging but after a long time it hasn't charged at all. It's quite bright at full strength but it won't stay on long on the higher settings. The design is a cool concept and the magnetic base is a cool feature but just wish it performed better.
Lampe sehr gut, Halterung schlecht
Licht ist bei Bedarf sehr hell und breit gestreut, wundervoll! Die Stirnbandhalterung ist mit genau einer asymmetrisch angeordneten Blechklemme ausgesprochen lausig, bei kleinem Anstoßen fällt die Lampe raus, ohne Nachbasteln eingeschränkt nutzbar. Es passt übrigens das sehr viel bessere Stirnband (Ersatzteil) der Acebeam H30
