Regardless of brand or model, there are lots of negative reviews for USB-C dongles saying, "Piece of cr*p! Won't drive my external display!" or "Junk! I connected a USB-C drive but it doesn't show up on my desktop!"I bought this without catching the product description that the USB-C port is "USB-C PD charging." So, lots of Power Delivery - but only charging - no data transfer capabilities. (I may have been too giddy about "Order in the next hour and have it delivered today.")I will not return it to Bolo because the mistake was mine, not theirs or Satechi's. So, I have something that does some - not all - of what I need.As for value, all ports work as described. I just think, based its capabilities, it's a bit overpriced.

Travel-wise, is perfect! Really small with every port you may need for your macbook, but if you have it on your lap and need a few additional ports, you connect this one and it can literally burn your leg. It gets way too hot. It works and i am sure it's built for high temperatures and all that, but you can't even grab it with your hand when you need to move it or disconnect something cuz is too hot.

Well made sturdy aluminum design. Connected successfully to a 2017 TouchBar MacBook Pro and 2020 iPad Air 4. I like the small blue light that lets you know it's powered. Tried a USB-A mouse, USB-A external hard drive, USB-A flash drive, and an SDHC memory card. All were recognized. Ran a Time Machine backup to the external hard drive without issue. Pass through charging worked fine with the usb-c charging port. Connected the Ethernet port to my router and it worked. Both lights for the connection and data traffic came on. I Really like the pop-up Ethernet port because it allows the whole device to keep a slim low profile. Easy to slide into the pockets on my laptop bag. Recommended.

I use it for Samsung Dex and there is no better product for my configuration. I carry it with me every day and it works as expected and the design is beautiful.

Great device, sturdy build, nice feel to it, doesn’t feel cheap at all. Quality all around. (TINY blue led to indicate on, doesn’t cause distraction) #1 3rd party product to use for your Apple MacBook Air or pro! I got the idea to plug in my PS5 controller into the USB port through this multimedia while connected to my Mac air, and it worked for gaming. I find it also works for the PS5 for extra HDMI ports but there are other products similar THATS specifically for ps5 use. (makes it possible though) highly recommend for anyone.Best bang for your buck in the long run, I bought one and few days later bought another one but with more ports!BUY them on sale and you’ll be even happier!! 100/100

Me compré una Mac Mini y me puse a investigar que marca es compatible con los productos de Apple, y Satechi es una de ellas. Así que me animé por este adaptador.Leí comentarios que se calienta mucho, y sí se calienta pero no es algo alarmante. Al menos el tiempo que yo lo uso se calienta pero lo normal.La verdad el adaptador luce muy elegante en color negro. Yo aproveché que estaba en descuento por el Black Friday. Hasta ahorita lo he usado con casi todas las ranuras excepto la de ethernet, y no he tenido problema. Es entrada USB-C, así tómenlo en cuenta.Lo recomiendo mucho si buscas algo de calidad. Es poco más caro que otros pero vale la pena. Además me sirvió porque después me compré una laptop Huawei con salidas para USB-C y no tengo ningún problema.
