1.0 out of 5 stars The Importance of Marks on Porcelain Products
Not too long ago, I had the experience of buying the De’Longhi porcelain espresso set. I was thrilled to receive it as I had been looking forward to using it for some time. The product was advertised to be made in Italy, which made me more excited; I even shared the news with a friend. However, to my dismay, upon receiving the espresso set, I noticed it was made in China, which was unexpected. While the product's origin wouldn't ordinarily be a concern, it would have been helpful to have been informed of this earlier and to have the manufacturer's mark displayed on the porcelain coffee set.The mark on cups or saucers should have indicated they were made in Italy or China but were unavailable.I just wanted to share this little mix-up with fellow coffee enthusiasts!Any porcelain factory usually has marks on the back of their products, including the manufacturer's name or logo, the pattern or design name, and sometimes the country of origin or date of production. These marks are vital in determining the authenticity and value of the piece. If a cup or saucer has no markings, it could indicate that it is not genuine porcelain or a lower-quality piece. Therefore, it is advisable to look for and note the markings on the back of any porcelain item to ensure its authenticity and quality. I was disappointed and concerned that the product I received might not be as authentic as advertised, and some even raised questions about its authenticity. The De’Longhi espresso set I received was too heavy to be made of porcelain. The weight of the cups and the uncertainty about their authenticity were significant factors in my overall experience with the espresso set. Additionally, the lack of acknowledgment or responsibility from the manufacturer regarding the product’s origin can be frustrating for consumers seeking transparency and authenticity. As a coffee lover, I value products that are true to their origins, and I believe I received an imitation.I visited De’Longhi‘s website, searching for information about genuine De’Longhi porcelain products made in Italy. However, I discovered they specialize in making espresso machines and other kitchen appliances, not porcelain products like dinner plates or coffee cups. I noticed the coffee set's packaging had the name Tognana on it, which is a well-known company that has been making porcelain products in Italy since 1775. I searched Tognana's website for any porcelain products branded with De’Longhi, but the search returned no results. The confusion surrounding the origin of the De’Longhi espresso coffee set raises questions about its authenticity. It is not pleasant to discover that a product advertised as made in Italy may not be genuine. Understanding the manufacturing processes and origins of the products we buy is essential for transparency and trust. After a cascading dissatisfaction, I found an authentic porcelain set of two espresso cups made and stamped by Apulum, a prestigious porcelain manufacturer in Romania since 1970. The cups are of high quality, and I am happy with my purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Incorrect Info
I gave it 5 stars, because they are well worth the price ! BUT, they are definitely not a 3oz. capacity, fact is, they do not even hold a Nespresso double espresso , which is listed at 2.78 oz.. If you are interested in a single size espresso, these are very nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple Yet Elegant Cups For Cappuccino
I own double-walled glass De'Longhi cappuccino cups, but sometimes I want something less modern. Enter these classic white porcelain cups from the same company. Each cup comes with a saucer; I rarely use the saucer, but it's nice to have. Although these cups are sized for a single cappuccino, I've been able to get a double from my machine, with lots of breath-holding. Of course, it all depends on how much frothed milk you add. Each has a 9-ounce capacity to the rim.I like that these use the European shape for cappuccino -- more vertical than horizontal -- than the wide, low version I see more in American coffee houses. This design keeps the coffee hotter for longer. I love that the cups flair a little at the top, both for elegance and for sipping. These cups look great on the breakfast table. Because they come only two to a package, I'm thinking of ordering another so that I can use them when I have overnight guests.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely, Heavy Porcelain – Hold 2 Ounces Comfortably
These are absolutely lovely cups and saucers. They are thick & heavy so stay warm & feel really good in the hand & sipping. They are traditional/small – hold about 2 ounces comfortably – that’s full but not spilling over the lip. A “traditional” espresso shot is usually 30ml or about 1 ounce so these are a perfect size for making a traditional shot or a double shot (2 ounces). I love these cups – they are classic pure white & I love the weight of them. They are like a cup you would get in a café in Italy.
