I collect pens and this manufacturer is represented in my collection with a few expensive pens. I was surprised that this pen was offered at such an affordable price. I checked the refill to make sure the pen was the real thing and there was a Pelikan branded refill installed. A Good thing!The pen has a smooth twist that engages the refill. I prefer a click pen because I’m a little nutty but a twist is perfectly functional and less annoying to folks if you are in a meeting and you start clicking … it happens!The pen came with a sticker on it with a bar code. It took lots of effort to get it and the glue residue off.I can’t figure out why this pen is more affordable than other Pelikan pens … maybe made outside Germany? Even so, it’s a quality pen, good, strong clip and a real German refill.I like it…

I am a lefty so it was important that the pen would fits nicely in my hand. Also ink glides nicely on paper when I am writing. This is giftable for anyone on a budget or to anyone who starting to write in script. My first pen was a quill. My grandfather taught me to write my name in script. I wish I had a Pelikan Jazz Classic Ballpoint pen. Could've saved me from ink in my hands and my blouse. LOL.

I like the pen, but the description of having a medium refill included turned out just to mean that you received a grand total of one "refill," not two. There was no extra refill with the pen. Blame the misleading "re" in the word "refill." I see no fault with the seller, but maybe it is worth clarifying in the description of the pen, for the future. Maybe not, and it is just me reading my hope into the language.Nice color, nice heft, and great brand. maitomoe

The listing states that is has red ink with a blue ink refill. There is no refill and the ink that's loaded in the pen is blue.

Love this pen
This is not an expensive pen but the size, fit and finish suited me to a T. Pelikan ink was also smooth on the paper. I`ve since gone through a couple of refills and it`s still functioning as new. Highly recommended.
Feels cheap; pale ink; uncomfortable
An outlier here, disagreeing vehemently with most other reviewers. This is not a smooth-writing pen, and the ink is too pale and "skippy". (I'm SO glad I didn't shell out the big bucks for Pelikan's outrageously overpriced refills.) The pen feels too lightweight, plasticky and cheap, and there's no way of telling which way to rotate the barrel, or how far, to release the nib. (It feels like too much of a twist will damage the pen.) The ugly sticker on the cap portion left an obnoxious residue that was difficult and time-consuming to remove. Most of all, the pen's thick body and barrel shape are incredibly uncomfortable and non-user friendly, and the grip is so glossy and slippery that, while attempting to write, my fingers slide instantly and end up down on the writing surface! I will stay with the Parker Jotter with its classic, slim, comfortable design, rich ink colour and smooth writing experience - and I won't buy another Pelikan product again.
