I have not used this product at the beach yet, nor have I had to use the connection screw part so I cannot attest to the full sturdiness of this product. But I have use the hooks to dig into the grass at my son’s soccer game and works wonders. Ease of setup was great! Size is amazing! It was worth the buy and wasn’t expensive. I have used several times and I always get asked where I got it from. I can set it up all on my own and put away with no help. I love it.

The skirt on this is such a great addition. It's the perfect size to go with my outdoor rug. The pockets are great, and once staked out, the umbrella is perfectly stable in weather I want to be out in. Highly recommend!

We used this as an upright umbrella instead of as a beach shelter because our chairs were too tall for the beach shelter layout. It was much easier to carry down to the beach instead of one of those pop up canopies and cheaper than renting an umbrella every day. The tilt joint in the middle was hard to push over when opening the umbrella. It did not withstand 18 mph wind the one day it was super windy and actually blew inside out. It did provide good shade but towards the end of the day, it was really tilting a lot and had trouble standing up in the sand.

I was looking for something that would keep me and my wagon full of gear out of the sun while waiting at some competition that I attend and saw something similar attached to a wagon. I purchased the sport brella to do the same thing. Now after a couple of competitions it works better than I thought. It provides enough shade from the sun for my self, my gear and a few friends. Definitely would buy again. One recommendation for the manufacturer would be to make the auger tip removable. I had to drill out the rivet to adapt it to my application and had to drill another hole a little higher to pin it in the holder

We just purchased our send set of 2 Sportbrella's. We eagerly purchased them because we have been so hapoy with our original set of 2. 4 kids in sports, beach trips, camping and they held up great. Literally unpacked both new umbrellas and they ripped through from just unpacking them and setting them on the bleachers. Seriously not 1 minute and both are torn. I put the second one away. Not windy or crazy conditions. Same set of bleachers many previous games. The material must be different cheaper now. I will be returning them.

It's very important to tie it down properly especially in windy areas. This is Lake Travis in TX, its very windy close to the waters edge. I have 2 stakes in the ground to either side of me and one stake behind the umbrella, using 2 cords with each stake holds it in place with strong Breezes. The 8ft canopy makes a large shadow area big enough for several people. The best part is how quick and easy it is to set up. I haven't needed the lower shaft at all. Put the stakes in the ground first with the cords. Then open the umbrella and attach the cords with the adjustable hooks (bought separately). Always take care opening it and putting it away and it will last a long time.
Great for sitting around the fire!
I LOVE the sportbrella! It makes camping soo much more comfortable! You set it up near the fire and it reflects the fires heat back at you, no more rotating to keep your back warm. It also blocks the wind and rain. It's big enough for 2 adults in chairs and a large dog bed behind. However this order came damaged and needs replacing. For some reason there is a 1 inch hole in the top of my new umbrella, so I'm kinda disappointed cause I wanted it for my family camping trip this weekend.
A must for beach lovers!
We love this for the beach! It is very versatile so you can adjust it to give shade from any direction and protect from blowing sand if needed. Best if all you can stake it down sonic doesn't blow away or inside put!!
Works very well
This sun shade works great on the beach. Digs right in, allows the wibd to go over top or through the windows, provides great shade. The carry bag will clearly be the first to break down - very poor quality and build. But the umbrella shade itself is built well.

This is much larger than I expected. Almost like a half tent. Seems sturdy and will protect you from the sun. Much cheaper than comparable beach umbrellas at Canadian Tire.
