5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, nicely seasoned wok
I wanted my very first wok and I did some research. This wok seems to be at a great price point, pre seasoned, and no exposed rivets. I am glad I went ahead and got this one. The seasoned is beautiful but I did additional coatings after cleaning it up the first time. The handle is great and carbon steel seems to be high quality. It has great weight but not super heavy. Perfect size and easy to use it with good handle. Good cooked in the wok just taste different. Cleaning is pretty straightforward. Rinse with hot water as soon as some cooking, and then heat it dry and cost with a thin layer of oil to store. I'm obsessed with the whole process of seasoning the wok.
5.0 out of 5 stars So good for stirfry!
I've been looking for a good stirfry wok for ages! I had tried some others but was not satisfied. This one, though, is superb! It's large enough for the amount of fried rice and veggies I make for my family, it was easy to season it, and it's non-stick. It's got a heft to it and two handles to make moving it and tossing food in it simple enough without breaking my wrists. Just very pleased with this pan! And it looks like it'll last a good, long while.
4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight and fast to heat up, but warps easily and tricky to season.
A wok is such a great tool in the kitchen, I'm really glad I added one to my kitchen arsenal and I recommend it to anyone who is even considering it. It makes stir-fry so much easier and cleaner, and learning how to flip food in the pan makes you feel very cool.Pros:* Heats up fast* Lightweight and easy to manipulate through space* Fantastic customer service* It's carbon steel, so super durableCons:* Can be a little tricky to season on an electric glass stove. Wood handle doesn't remove easily and prevents you from seasoning in the oven.* Warps easily -- especially on an electric glass stove. I have two other carbon steel pans, one thin and one thick and I haven't permanently warped any of those. This one I warped during seasoning, they sent me another one (amazing customer service^), and the new one warped immediately again. That said, the warp doesn't really impact the cooking as far as I can tell, at least not significantly. Also, I reduced the warp by hitting it with a rubber mallet.* Comes with a weird film on top that needs to be removed but not completely removed? It's a little tricky cleaning it when you first get it.Summary: If you're thinking about a wok, definitely get a wok. If you have an electric stove, maybe consider a different style of pan (like a cast iron one with a burner bottom) as this will probably warp. This is a good pan and it works really well and the customer service is top tier.
5.0 out of 5 stars A wok that cooks good as it looks!
I live in a area with a few large Asian grocery and Chef kitchen stores.I didn't see any that I liked better. So I ordered this.My overall impression is that it's a strong well made solid performer. The initial conditioning it cane with really helped. I conditioned twice two days in a row and then did my first wok cooking trying to make dishes look authentic. The accessory utensils from them that I ordered too are similarly well built (glass top lid and stainless steel spatula and ladle). Once conditioned and a couple dishes were made it started sticking food less and cleaning (with plastic scrub pad and hot water only) easily. Heats fast, good heat distribution and thick enough metal to hold heat well when add very cold (frozen part thawed vegetables) ingredients. I let it cool completely before cleaning and oil surface lightly before storing.I was surprised it cooked so well on a standard stove top range. You have to have all ingredients cut and ready to go because this hot wok cooks extremely fast and only have a couple minutes to add ingredients in the order of longest need to cook first and what is needed to spice the next ingredient (e.g , minced garlic and Chinese chives). For flavor I found it best to add the sauce over the dish near the end with a quick swirl in and then take the food right out before the sauce burns. The size of this wok is perfect for a range top. Large enough to arrange food into heat zones to cook and cool. But small enough to handle well in a home space. The surface material is sloped right and textured enough to hold food where you put it to cook without self sliding into the hot spot.My success was also likely better than average because I also picked up a mandoline slicer so I could make uniform thickness vegetables for even cutting. Basically I watched what they were doing in their videos and tried to mimic it. From my snapshots on our counter it looks like it all worked as hoped. (I tried to arrange the food to look like restaurant dishes, which they sure tasted as good as, but with less sugar and more spicy that I crave.40 yrs ago I had an inexpensive round bottom thin walled wok that I tried to use on an electric range and it sure didn't work well. I gave up on it and wok cooking fast. Why did I not get a new wok with this quality back then? I could have had restaurant quality flavor at home inexpensively without their added sugar for a long time. These photos are my six lunch tests in the first six days we had this wok.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best wok I’ve ever had
I needed a new wok, and made a decision based on the reviews. It’s always a plus when people take the time to write reviews. I want this wok to last for a long time so I was reading the directions carefully. This wok is made of quality materials. It cooks evenly and I like the size of the pan. It doesn’t slip on my stove when cooking and the handle is easy to hold.
High quality Carbon Steel Wok
This wok is so nice to use. Follow the instructions on how to season and care for it and you will have a quality wok. What a treat to use, great heat distribution, nice and deep for cooking a large amount, easy to handle and not too heavy. Great product at an affordable price point.
A great pan
Looks and handles great, fits four portions nicely. I've seasoned it three times with canola oil, and the surface does not stick, compared to my ikea inox steel pan (which is also very nice, but good luck trying frying noodles in it...). Just follow the instruction and don't simmer stuff in it.
Buen wok, para una persona experimentada
Tuve un poco de dificultad preparando la sartén para el uso, no fue fácil limpiarla del aceite de fábrica.
Fare stagionatura prima dell'uso
