I have not applied the product yet to my wood building to fill screw holes due to weather. I am confident it will do the job. Update later.

The paste is excellent for filling in areas where wood has rotted. It fills the holes and gaps,and is waterproof, but it's hard to get a smooth finish coat. Another problem is the short shelf life after it is opened, so plan on using it fast - If you try to use it in a week or two after first opening, it will probably be hard in the can. Even when I first opened it, the was some hardening around the edges around the can. That being said, I cant think of another product that could have done the job.

Flex paste is an absolute waste of money. It does not stick to anything but itself and my new gloves. I cleaned and dried the metal that i was trying to apply the product to and all it did was fail to stick. The crap deceptive sizing doesn't help either. 3lb is a quart. This makes it so by the time you get to the bottom of the can you cant effectively get the product out.Do yourself a favor and just get an exterior caulk and use a caulking gun. It will go on much easier. 20+ years as a general contractor, I can tool caulk. This product is not worth your time.

Bolo's web page shows the "NEW! Stay Fresh Container", but they shipped the old obsolete plastic tub. As many of the other reviewers have correctly stated, the plastic tub cannot keep the product soft, pliable and usable. I called the FlexSeal factory, and they are fully aware of the problem. If you order from the FlexSeal website, the factory is shipping the Stay Fresh can as of 2024, March 12.This is a good product, but it's a complete waste of money to buy it in the obsolete plastic tub. That form of packaging is incapable of keeping the product in usable form. It hardens from the top down. I bought two from local stores, and learned that if you squeeze the tub at the top and it doesn't feel soft, the product has hardened and won't be usable. Typically it will be softer near the bottom, but all of the product above (the unsqueezable part) is so hard you can't get it onto the putty knife. Bolo needs to stop shipping the product in the obsolete plastic tub.Update: I called Bolo Customer Service and advised them that the plastic tub packaging is obsolete and no longer being shipped by the factory, and that they should return all product in the plastic tubs, and ship only the product (in the can) shown on the web page. I was advised that they would do so. That was on March 16, the same day I ordered the new (can) packaging directly from the factory. It arrives today (March 20). Shipping was free. Looking forward to seeing how it performs in patching a stucco parapet wall.Update: I received the can from the factory. The product was fresh and easy to apply. Because I was applying it on stucco, it took more to fill all the nooks and crannies than I expected, so I will need another can to finish the job. I ended up doing the whole job with a putty knife. I applied it in full sunlight on a warm breezy day, but it stayed flexible enough to work it into a smooth surface as I went. I doubt it will need a second coat. I don't know how long it will last, but I expect it will be pretty durable. There is no way any rain is going to get through the FlexPaste. I used a rubber spatula to scrape all the product from the sides and bottom of the can. Clean-up was easy; I just wiped the material off the tools with paper towels.
5.0 out of 5 stars I had one " Hail" of a Hail Storm.
My Hot Tub cover was destroyer during a hail storm in Colorado. Pock marks all over and then we had rain forever so lots of water seeped in. Ordering is a 6 month wait...what to do? I have to make this cover last for as long as I could. I saw Flex Paste...... ordered . Took longer to get here than I thought but was worth the wait. It now looks like my hot tub has a bad case of pimples with Noxema on all the spots! LOL...but it keeps the water out and I can wait without worrying about the winter snow compromising the cover.

The packaging is the worst, no matter what, it dried up quick, buy the small one cause this one you must use it all cause no matter the etc. You can't store it. Besides that, great stuff.

We bought this and it took us 2 months to open it at all because it had been raining outside consistently, thus being too wet to use it for what we needed. It was completely sealed the entire time. When we did finally open it to use it, the top half of it was dried up. we got maybe 1/3 of the product that we could actually use. Definitely do not let the container sit, even completely sealed and unopened, for any amount of time. I’m not sure if we received it like this or not because we didn’t open it until we needed to use it.

Does not work under water as stated! Stays on putty knife and will not spread under water. Just globs and falls to bottom of pool! Great product for sealing around things. Was not sealed the best and had to waste quite a big ring of paste as they had not air sealed it the best. Also seemed to not be that full of a pail. Used it to patch the walls of my above ground pool around jet and skimmer. Plan on using to patch the liner inside in 2 places as well. Hopefully it does not harden before I can use the rest. I sealed it as shown and hope it does work.
Not worth 75 dollars when the first two inches of the tub were gone hard
Half the tub was gone hard when I opened it
Three lbs tub and could only use 2 lbs
When I opened the tub 10 minutes after it arrived the plastic seal and the little pak was on top but all around the edges was hard and unusable ,you can see this in the pic,
