I thought I blew the amp, but after troubleshooting, nope, the amp blew my sub! That’s why I trust this sub is putting out its rated power. Got a better Savard sub and now it’s perfect. Also, I was having issues with my line output converter. So I removed it and tried the amp’s speaker level inputs; it sounded way better! People will tell you that you really need that LOC … not with this amp.

I recently installed a Kicker Comp C 10" sub and Boss Chaos Epic 500w RMS class A/B amp that I bought almost 10 years ago but never got around to installing in a previous car of mine, into a Cadillac ELR. It sounded great but being that the car is basically an EV, I fully intended on installing a class D amp given their energy efficiency over class A/B amps. I tried a few sub-$100 class D amps but each of them left me wanting more compared to the Boss amp.Finally, I decided to spend a bit more and this amp happened to be on sale for $150 at my local Best Buy, and I am very glad I did. It pushes as well the Boss amp, but cleaner. I'm sure the sub isn't yet completely broken in, and I just can't wait to hear what it sounds like once it is.

Unit seemed very well built-Installation instructions were OK. The amp played well for about 5 weeks after installation. In week(not month) six, suddenly no output. Noticed that power light would not stay on more than a few seconds., Hmmm! Checked all connections, wires, speakers, etc. with DVM tester. All supply voltages and signals on the input side were good. Dissapointed. I thought Kenwood was higher quality. Fortunately Bolo agreed with me that two months of reliable service was not appropriate and issued me a refund. Now I need to replace the amp, will probably try a Rockville brand amp. Sorry Kenwood
