If you are looking for a series that has everything: mystery, drama, comedy, this is the series for you. The cast is wonderful. Each actor really gets into the skin of their character. I found myself feeling what each character was feeling. Sometimes I found myself losing patience with Monk (feeling what his co-worker were probably feeling) and other times wanting to wrap my arms around him in a big hug. It is a lot of work to put these shows together. We have the privilege of seeing the finished product. Thank you all for all that you do. I would love to get the movie that came out last year. It would make my collection complete.

Monk is well written and acted. I think the show works as well today as when it originally aired. My sons like it. The show has changed streaming services a couple of times so I had to get the discs before I can not stream it.

Maybe not for everybody. Originally, I never watched the series because I thought the premise was silly. However, when I saw a few episodes on Prime, I was hooked. While on the surface Monk is comical and hard to take seriously, as the story unfolds, you are pulled into his world, (no spoilers) but I found myself able to put myself in his place, and I was amazed at how well the shows were written, evoking a great deal of emotion. When it ended, I felt like I lost a friend. That is why I got the DVDs, so I can watch them again and again.

So we bought the DVD set so we can watch the rest. Fortunately we have a multi region player so the discs play in Australia. There is no Region 4 version, as far as I can tell.

Monk es una de mis series favoritas. Había visto las últimas temporadas en televisión de paga cuando fueron transmitidos originalmente.De hecho, la acababa de ver completa en un servicio de Internet. Y fue justo a tiempo ya que la quitaron del catálogo justo cuando terminé de verla.Es por ello que, para verla de nuevo en el futuro, decidí aprovechar y comprarla.El precio es bastante razonable.
Incomplete set
There are 2 disc 3 for season 5 instead of disc 3 and 4 (duplicates; see photo). Item not eligible for return or replacement. Contacting Bolo customer care means jumping through many hoops - a significant change from years past when customers could do so in literally 2 steps. So I am stuck with this defective set and zero options. Two stars off for this.Monk is an older tv crime comedy show for viewers who don't like the sugar-coating present in today's shows. For example, Big Bang theory downplays OCD and psych makes fun of it all. Monk does a great job of showcasing how difficult OCD and a variety of phobias make handling day-to-day incidents while solving crime. There is little to no gore and very little forensics in this show. It's just something that tells you even when a person is imperfect/riddled with flaws that person is unique and special and capable of greatness. As for the crimes themselves it usually comes down to breaking down the suspect's seemingly airtight alibi.I love this show and do not regret the purchase. I am however extremely unhappy about the missing disc/episodes.
Sin audio y subtitulos en español
Me quedó con el producto puesto que está en perfecto estado apesar de que en la descripción decia audio en español pero solo tuvo audio en español hasta la tercera temporada despues el audio fue sólo en inglés y tampoco los subtitulos estaban en español. Desde la 4 Temporada lo audio y subtitulos estaban en inglés.
