5.0 out of 5 stars Fixed the problem
Original phones seemed to be giving us problem breaking up not working at times, People on the other end could not hear us at times.. We thought it was the phone service.. after research I thought it was easier to try new phones before switching phone service, since our phones were 17 years old. .. Very happy I did . These phones work great clear sound big buttons and so far no problems. I also like the idea that the Base Unit is much smaller than the original phones , it does not take up much room on the night stand. We got 4 units for all over the house and all work great.
5.0 out of 5 stars Performs As Expected
The AT&T cordless phones are dependable systems I've relied on for many years. This new set is hooked up and works flawlessly. Very satisfied.Battery Notes:Some reviewers have said they have had problems with batteries that need constant charging after short use. I have a hunch those batteries were not fully charged before being put into use. In miniature lettering on the batteries themselves, it instructs the user to charge them up for 16 hours before use. The user manual indicates 12 hours. The time to a full charge will vary, but important to follow instructions for optimal use.Rechargeable batteries usually last for a long time, but not indefinitely. It is so strange that it takes quite a bit of searching to find the exact battery information for replacements. The battery type for the AT&T BL102-4 DECT 6.0 is: 2.4V 300mAh Ni-M4 OR BT162342 || BT262342. I've found them available with Bolo seller iMahDirect.SPEAKER PHONE NOTE:To answer a call by using the speaker button, I am finding that it takes a double tap on the button because often the call initially defaults to the ear piece. Confusing at first and also annoying. Well, I returned the set because of this issue and got the AT&T BL102-5 to replace it. Works fine except a different issue that has hopefully been remedied:The BL102-5 voicemail preset greeting gets cut off from a caller, goes directly to an abrupt beep. Making a delayed custom recording to try as a fix, I waited silently for a few seconds to begin speaking. It worked. Callers can now first hear a brief greeting before leaving a message.
4.0 out of 5 stars Replacing an older set (4) with weak batteries
Its a great phone set, phones work any where in our home and shop. Everyone these days must have a home answering machine to answer all the calls so your not having to engage with spam callers. The voice mail recall is easy. But I'm still not happy with the call block, and Smart call block. They could improve this a) Smart call block is complicated, so many variables.b) I'd also like if we could just bring up the number on the history list and push call block and have it enter it into the black caller list, but AT&T hasn't yet added this simple function. Why???You have to manually type in each number, that's a hassle.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great phone
It's a great phone the sound is nice and loud and the keys on the phone are nice and write instructions are a little confusing but that's all
5.0 out of 5 stars I LUV this phone!!! If your issue is blocking numerous annoying spam callers…
I give it 5 stars!! (I don’t know what the “Lock Feature” is, but just gave that feature 5 stars too). I had a Panasonic cordless that was several years old and still worked perfectly, but it only allowed me to block 30 numbers at a time, which, with the increase in spam callers, caused me to have to constantly have to go into the block list and remove older numbers to make room for the more recent ones. WELL… this one lets you block 1000 numbers!!! (Hopefully that will be enough for a while). Also, my Panasonic cordless would announce “you’ve got a call from…” and then state about the first 5 numbers, so I was still hearing it ring, tho I know from the area code not to pick it up. With this AT&T cordless, if the spam callers hang up after my greeting starts playing, I never even hear it ring once nor announced. And if the number is on my block list, it won’t ring thru either. I check the phone’s caller list daily and if I see new un-blocked spam calls listed I can easily put them on the block list. It is also much easier to block calls actively coming in or even afterwards than it was on my older Panasonic. I only have to push a cpl of buttons to put a number on the block list with the AT&T phone, while with my Panasonic, I had to go to the Menu, scroll down to find block list, erase a number to make room for new number, go back to call list to see new spam number, edit it down to 10 digits (minus the “1”), then save it. It was a LOT of steps. So this AT&T phone makes it much simpler in way fewer steps to block numbers. I no longer hear spam caller rings / announcements start in the early morning hours because most of them hang up w/o leaving a message. If they do leave a message - which I have not experienced yet since installing new phone about 4 days ago - I would be able to put them on the block list the same as if they hadn’t. I have observed that spammers roll thru various exchanges to try to get to you by changing 1 digit in the number they are calling from at a time. I am very diligent in checking every day for those numbers and block them immediately. This is why the ability to block 1000 numbers is the MOST important new feature of this phone to me. One thing that is different, which is not as good as the Panasonic, is setting Quiet Hours… those hours between midnight and whatever time in the morning you do not want the phone to ring at all from anyone. On the Panasonic, there is a setting to enter the specific hours once that you want to be Quiet and it observes those hours day in and day out; however, with the new AT&T phone, you have to set them each night. It’s an easy setting, but still so easy to forget to do that before bed every night. So that is the one deficiency of this phone, and I am surprised AT&T didn’t catch that in their development of it. But so far, I have remembered to set it nightly. Even if I forget, I still LUV this phone because it blocks spam callers so perfectly, and that is the main reason I bought it!! So, if you have a problem with lots of spam callers and want to stop them in their tracks, this is the phone for you!!

Great for elderly people
I've bought soooo many phones for my elderly mom. Either the buttons were too small or the sound quality too poor. I bought the 'Clarity' phone and ironically, it had the poorest sound quality of all the ones I've bought. This AT&T phone has large buttons that light up as soon as the phone is lifted off the base. The sound quality is much better than most phones. The 'Talk' and 'Off' buttons are also fairly large so easy for her to use. It's not big but isn't as small as some. The larger size is easier for her to hold and use. It's decently loud for her to hear easily.I'd definitely recommend this phone for older people to use!
