5.0 out of 5 stars Campfire in a Cup - Pure Comfort
I’ll pay for coffee. And have. Honestly, there is some correlation between cost and quality, but not in every case. Here is one of those exceptions.Coffee has been both passion and addiction for 50 years, Sumatran and Yirgacheffe being my choices. This is the Sumatran I buy for a simple reason - great freaking coffee whose flavors and characteristics you can explore or just say “ahhhh” to. Deep caramel/chocolate notes; balanced acidity - rounded as it should be with enough bite to let you know it’s still coffee. Deep, medium-heavy overall profile, but runs the palette like silk with a lingering “Sumatran” liquid smoke haze.Taste is a matter of taste. I can’t speak for the 1/2 star ratings for that reason. But to me, this Sumatran is as approachable as it is complex and would be satisfying to the store brand-Colombian buyer as much as it would be to the single-origin Blue Mountain buyer.Enjoy. And spend less. Real value.

4.0 out of 5 stars Coffee is amazing, ship time was awful
I absolutely love this coffee, for starters. It has become my favorite due to its amazing flavor and fair price. However, I can't for the life of me understand why it has taken over a month to get me my order. I have exactly one cup remaining before I am completely out, and any coffee addict knows, that's NOT a good place to be...
5.0 out of 5 stars Best coffee with best price
Coffee with a rich smooth flavor. There is no bitter aftertaste. Price comparison is shocking. 12 oz of beans averages at least $12.00. That's 6 bags for 72 oz. This bag is 80 oz for basicly $50.00. You do the math. And this tastes so much better.
5.0 out of 5 stars Rich, hearty flavor
Delicious, rich, hearty flavor. Dark roast yum.Used pour over - other coffees that I tried were getting thin flavors, this is full and delicious.
3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Sumatran Coffee, Room for Improvement
This Copper Moon dark roast Sumatran coffee delivers acceptable quality. The smoky, earthy notes are present but lack complexity. Good value for 2 pounds. The heavy oil content from dark roasting might not appeal to light roast fans. While it makes a serviceable daily brew, it falls short of being exceptional. Worth considering if you're looking for a budget-friendly Sumatran blend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth Delicious Full Body Dark Roast
Costco discontinued carrying Sumatra dark roast. I tried several other brands from Bolo but had yet to find a better alternative. Copper Moon's blend is the best we've found across the board. This blend offers a wide dimension of flavor. I love it. Plus, at $0.47/ounce, it's a great deal. I highly recommend this product. It beats Costcos' Sumatran, which in and of itself was better than Starbuck's French Roast.
5.0 out of 5 stars Surprised at how good it is!
I'll be honest, I purchased it because it was one of the lowest price coffees that I was looking at. When I got it and opened it the smell was amazing, and I ground them and put them in my French press and was absolutely blown away. I love the rich taste and would say that it is hands down better than starbucks. Taste is subjective, some people like things a certain way and some people like them a different way but I give this five stars!
Really great coffee
I’ve been buying Kirkland Colombian for years since it’s the best bag of beans I can find in Australia. However, they ran out or stopped selling it. This Copper Moon Sumatra is a superior replacement but quite a bit more expensive. It’s stronger but not more bitter or sour so very happy with it.
Great coffee
Decided when price of my usual ‘L’ beans suddenly spiked. No regrets, in fact, a pleasant discovery. Coffee isn’t bitter nor acidic (my view, of course) and compares well with ‘Sb’. Nice drink.
A medium in my Opinion
Not my favorite more of a medium than a bold dark. Far less full bodied than I like and I make only a 6 ounce brew with two tablespoons
Can’t Compare to Starbucks Sumatra.
The taste and aroma was very disappointing compared to Starbucks Sumatra. Only ground a few cups and threw out the rest of a 2kg bad. Not happy with the waste!! The only reason I tried this was because my fav beans are no longer on Bolo. The high reviews are misleading.
A waste; an expensive waste
Horrible, toxic chemical taste, I could only have a sip or two and even that left me worried that I had been poisoned! I am sending the whole bag to a lab for testing. I want to know what is in it for my own peace of mind.
