5.0 out of 5 stars Really nice, and worth the extra $'s for the subwoofer out.
I had purchased a small pair of Edifier bluetooth computer speakers, that were just what I needed, but the permanently attached cables that limited them to being 5ft apart didn't work for me, so I returned them and upgraded to these at 2x the price. These speakers are overkill for what I need, but man do they sound good. I opted for these vs a cheaper set because they had a subwoofer out option. Glad I did. An old Cambridge Soundworks subwoofer I had works with these. These speakers sound great on their own, but the subwoofer pushes them over the top. The sound becomes more three dimensional and room filling. The bluetooth works great with all my devices so far, and the included remote is a nice touch. The included cable to connect the left speaker is long and will accommodate just about any placement you have in mind. The speakers came packed really well, kudos to Edifier on that. Definitely seems like a premium product.The only criticism I have is minor. I wish they had a separate knob for selecting between inputs. I don't like multi function buttons, where you have to push and hold for one thing, and quick pushes for others. The remote mitigates that annoyance.These are substantial speakers, so if your looking for something small, these might not be for you.If I have problems, I'll update this review, but so far so good. Excellent speakers for someone needing self-powered bluetooth capable speakers. The subwoofer out for only $10 more than the ones without it is worth it, imo. Much more versatile and room filling if you have a subwoofer laying around, or would like to add one later.

I bought these to add music in my family room. I paired them with an older Echo Dot so I can do multi room music. By themselves they have a great clean sound. Bass is a little lacking but for a small speaker that is to be expected. The mids and highs are really clear. I also paired this with a powered 10" Polk subwoofer and together this puts out a ton of sound. Granted my room is fairly small, but for not using a traditional amplifier set up this is great. My only beef is that they don't have an optical input, which made it hard to connect to my TV. That is solved with an adapter so no big deal. I'd buy these again if I ever had the need.

I purchased these speakers to use with my desktop computer. I chose the FX-Audio DAC-X6 DAC to process the digital sound from my PC to feed the Edifiers. These components were purchased after a good deal of research and the recommendations in various reviews. There are more expensive options, but I doubt I could tell the difference. I had an existing powered subwoofer, so I just bought a 3.5mm to RCA cable to plug from the Edifiers to the sub. The DAC is connected to the Edifiers with a high-quality RCA cable (although a standard one is included with the Edifiers). I used an optical cable to connect the DAC to the optical port on my computer's motherboard. The remote works well.No, this combination does not rival the highest quality audiophile systems. But, it is pretty darn good for a fairly inexpensive setup. Granted, I already had the subwoofer, but I think it sounds pretty good without it.My wife often listens to music and heard this system playing in my den. She immediately came in an asked how to use it. She marveled at how good it sounds. I am pleased with this purchase.

A bit of an audiophile so I’m picky. These speakers perform way outside their price range. My main speakers are Klipsche reference series and these rival them in fullness and balance. Crisp highs (not work like the Klipsche good), full mids, and soft/clear lows. Bass is not punchy and like I said, a bit soft. But even turned all the way up, no distortion with what I have listened to. I didn’t expect them to hit like a sub but I did expect a LITTLE more punchy aspect. Not disappointed, but that is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. Male vocals definitely still have that low end that’s missing in a lot of speakers.Nice weight without being too heavy. Feels well-built. Not wood, it’s MDF. Nice cables. Worth nearly twice their price.Highly recommend.

How nice to hear sound like this. I'm not an audiophile but I appreciate the sound quality of these so much. The bluetooth works easily, the remote is handy, they are big enough but not too big and the wood cases look so good. I don't think you can beat them for the price. It's a real treat to play music thru these speakers.

Great speakers for a small room
These are pretty awesome! I've been looking at Edifier products for a while now. This model was a surprise - addition of Bluetooth 5.0 and sub-out was only in higher models, but now it's in the budget models.The price was just right during Christmas holidays so I went for it.I like:- remote control to turn speakers on / off- light that shows which line the speaker is on- super seamless pairing for Bluetooth- switching between the incoming channels- great sound for a small room. The bass is not super deep, but enough to get play hip-hop (I might buy the woofer later)- design is great and materials are premium- on sale its an amazing deal!I don't like:- the speakers have specific side assigned (one is left and one is right). It would be nice if you could reverse the sides so you could place the speakers with the controls closer to you. Reversing the line-in cables works, but for Bluetooth it's still in the wrong order.- would be nice to have the optical line-in- these need sturdier / metal grills - my nephews will poke at these speakers within 5 seconds of seeing them. The grills are material based do the fingers will just go through them and will damage the speakers.- I would reverse the colors on the remote (black text on white background) or make them brighter so you could see the buttons better in the dark- skinnier connector cable between the two speakers?

I am an audio expert and these are superb
I am in the music / radio biz Soni am really fussy when it comes to sound. For the price and size, these speakers couldn't have better sound. Crisp top-end with such clarity, and a warm bass generated by the heavy real wood case. They are simply perfect for listening to music the way it was intended. I have attached a pic so that you can see the size relative to a bottle of wine. The cable between the two speakers is crazy long so you can put them in 2 corners of a room. Bluetooth was a breeze to set up. You can buy a plug-in sub-woofer but honestly the bass is good enough for me as a pop/rock listener. In summary these are exceptional for the price.
