5.0 out of 5 stars Great fast-response lights for general lighting or special effects
When I initially got into smart lights I would stick to "knock off" brands that can work with the Lumia software (for streamers, but I mostly use it for the house) but those just dd't have a quick enough response time. When Halloween came around I decided to add a Hue kit with a hub in my arsenal, and I further beefed up my lineup with four more bulbs in this order. Finally I have been able to sequence lightning strikes with sound effects, sudden rapid color changes and a whole set of fun effects. When not being used for effects, these lights illuminate my porch with a realistic yet not too distracting flame effect. I've also delved into the Phillips Hue Sync app, which can sync the lights with contents on a screen, which has greatly helped in adding a "jazzy" touch to my gaming content. I am truly pleased with these despite their steeper price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Making your smart home smart.
I now have hue lights in my entire home, they are easy to set up, work well with Alexa, let us have all kinds of fun in the house with the little different light colors. Using holiday colors, sporting colors, the ability to dim Or brighten the lights as necessary, or turn on individual lights has been very convenient. I have had no issues so far. They are a little pricey but so far so good
5.0 out of 5 stars I keep buying more 💡
I clearly like these things. I’ve collected over 14 of them over the years. One of my favorite features (outside of the colors) is its ability to fake that I’m at home whenever I’m away. Both through your choice home assistant or through the Hue app, you can setup customized away modes.I got theses for my Halloween decorations. I have a lot of outdoor lights and I wanted to add a little something extra for yard. These are great at setting a mood while still providing some safety lighting around the property. Now, they are not recommended for outdoor use and your individual mileage may vary, but I was willing to risk it and installed them onto a few fixtures. Since then, I haven’t noticed any issues nor do I really anticipate any so long as they stay relatively dry.I’m using them for Halloween decorations but they will easily transition to Christmas decorations after Nov. 1st.
5.0 out of 5 stars Tiki bar came alive with these hue bulbs!
The media could not be loaded. These hue bulbs definitely made our tiki bar come to life! You can set themes and have the lights turn on with Alexa or Siri. We also have some outside we change the colors based on the holidays. These are my favorite smart home items and I even purchased the hue strip to accent parts of the tiki bar. Really happy with my purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars These are great!
I've got these all over the house now. They're great. And there are little things they thought of that make them so much nicer, like when you turn them on or off there's a subtle fade, maybe 300 to 500 milliseconds in duration. It's a small thing but it has a huge impact on the perceived quality of the product and overall feeling of interacting with the lights themselves. You're walking through a hallway where the light is automatically triggered by a motion sensor and instead of it just popping on and back off there's a nice smooth transition.Well done Phillips. Well done.
4.0 out of 5 stars May not show up as Philips Hue when paired to Echo.
I'm totally blind. I got some more of these to add to my Smart house. I picked up a pack of 4 to add to my ceiling fan in my home office. I got all of them added to my Echo 2nd gen plus. I'm guessing these are connected by Zigbee being the 2nd gen plus supports that. With the old Philips Hue bulbs, you could tell by the name if it was connected by Bluetooth or Zigbee. Initially when adding these, I forgot to turn off some of my Echo's so had to re-add them being the bulbs didn't connect to the Echo I wanted and I knew those whir connected by Bluetooth and I didn't want that. So had to remove and add them back. Made sure the lights whir on, deleted them out of the Alexa App and then turned off all Echo's accept for the old Echo 2ng gen plus that I have all my Zigbee devices connected to. When I got them added back, they all showed that they whir connected to the Echo I wanted. These show up as anSignify Netherlands b.v. smart Deviceand not a Philips Hue Smart Device. Can you get lower priced bulbs? The answer is Yes. But lower priced bulbs don't last as long, aren't Zigbee and Bluetooth. If you connect bulbs up by Bluetooth, they will be hit and miss as far as when they work if you use an Echo. If you do get lower priced bulbs like that are Wi-Fi, you will be limited on Range and they probably will respond slower if using an Echo.I plan on adding more Zigbee bulbs to my house to finish making all the stuff smart and controlable by Alexa. I currently have over 40 devices connected to one Echo 2nd gen plus and that is only using one Wi-Fi connection and all devices respond great.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Bulbs, But You Really Need a Hub
These bulbs are nice, but my phone can only connect to 7 bluetooth devices at a time. So if you want to place more bulbs or do a multi-room setup, you'll probably need the Philips hub as well. And the hub needs to be connected to a wifi router with an Ethernet cable.
3.0 out of 5 stars Two of the bulbs did not work
Usually, I really like this product but two of the bulbs aren’t working. I’ll need to get with the manufacturer to ask for replacements.Usually, I really like this product but two of the bulbs aren’t working. I’ll need to get with the manufacturer to ask for replacements.
