Using the demineralization cartridges makes taking care of a humidifier really easy. You drop one cartridge in each water tank and you do not have any problems with the water vapor. It makes keeping your humidifier working properly a breeze.

I am not sure if it is supposed to leave lots of black powder residue in everything but it does. As a filter it is working great. I have not noticed any more hard water lines or build up but there is black powder residue every time I clean the system.

Purchased these to keep our humidifiers from producing that yucky white dust. We clean them regularly but still no matter how ofter or what type of water we used we would get that dust on everything. These are super easy to use, just drop them in the tank and turn it on. We change them out once a month. One bag gets us through the dryer months.

I used the Homedics cartridges in the past but they did not seem to diminish the white dust, so I thought I'd give another brand a try. I followed the instructions for these as for the Homedics brand, soaking them in water before putting them in the humidifier. The water became instantly clouded with black sediment, which never happened with the name brand. I repeated soaking and rinsing until the water was not visible cloudy. After using the humidifier overnight, there was a layer of white dust building up on the furniture. Black film had to be cleaned from the ultrasonic membrane in the humidifier. I've stopped using these "filters" and started using water run through a Zerowater pitcher. Two nights into the Zerowater experiment and no sign of white residue. The picture shows readings from the TDS (total dissolved solids) meter that came with the pitcher. Fresh tap water at 203 ppm, filtered with Zerowater at 000 ppm, and water that had been in a gallon jug with two of these cartridges for 24 hours at 204 ppm, demonstrating that the demineralization cartridges are not taking any solids out of the water.

I like to run humidifiers in the bedroom and living room during summer and winter to keep the humidity a little higher. Now the air isn't overly dry in NorCal, but i've found having a little extra humidity, i sleep better.Its always been a pain to keep the humidifiers clean. Mildew buildup in all the nooks and crannies were a real pain to get clean.Once i threw one of these in each of the humidifiers, no more mildew. They are little miracle workers.

Seems to be working
Seems to be working as described. Don't notice as much white dust & hopefully will help buildup within the humidifier. Downfall is no instructions in the box.
Pure garbage
I purchased these to put into my mist humidifiers and instead of improving the situation it made it worse. My air purifier was indicating a count of over 200ppm of contaminants with these cartridges. I also ended up with a black deposit of black dust in my mist humidifier. Shortly after removing the demineralization cartridges and cleaning my humidifier the air quality had improved considerably. I have purchased several items from Bolo and this is the first junk item that I feel I got scammed from the seller. I had read the reviews with some good and several not so good.
Easy to use
Arrived fast and exactly as described. Have been using the filter for about week and so far no issues and seems to be working. Using distilled water with filter and emptying tank after use. No white cast on furniture.
Doing the job!
Use them in my humidifier systems. So far that does work well. No more “White Stuff “ on surrounding areas. We have Well Water and this should assist us in reducing staining in the units.
