The idea of putting an ice puck at the bottoms of the container is genius. It does keep drinks nice and cold for hours. The multi colored metallic one I purchased is gorgeous , and the heft and versatility are unique.

We have 9 Brumate cups and they are great! But, it’s kind of a bummer that the DA color pretty much looks like a muddled mess where the blue overwhelms the pink and is cloudy looking (so much so that I took it out of the trash to show you it’s ugly) you may be able to see it in the picture. Sorry, it doesn’t quite come thru to well, but trust me it’s ugly and all over scuffy looking.One thing I’ve realized due to having 2 of these Bolo “2nd chance” sale cups (the DA and the dark blue matte) is that one style has a smooth finish which seems to scratch easily and the matte finish ones seem to handle use better. Both have scratches the DA has a 2” one right down to the metal and the dark blue has 2 slight scratches and a scuff near the bottom. Both were refunded and I didn’t have to return them.Also, another big bummer is that the matte cups don’t all have the same texture. The orange matte one has a smooth slightly matte texture but it’s not as smooth as the neon pink, camo, and the purple and green cup. The dark blue and black cup have the same heavier texture then the aforementioned ones above but then the green has a much thicker matte texture. SMH… I wish that they were all that thick texture!Anyway, we are careful with and only hand wash our cups so if your family is really active and hard on things (wear and tear) I’d stay away from the smooth finish style. These are great cups, they do not leak, and my beverages stay hot/cold for a long time even without the flip top closed. These cups are worth every penny so if you take care of them they should last a really long time!

I bough my first one when I was on vacation in Florida! Keeps my soda cold with the ice pack for a very long time. It works great for my coffee when I'm on the go! I decided I needed a back up. Love it!

**Updating my review on 03/18/24 after a few weeks of use. The pic without a date at the bottom was the original photo.Not as impressed as I initially was, still mostly because of the colorway I picked (Dark Aura). I barely do anything with it, aside from use it at my desk job and occasionally take it in the car in the cupholder, and it's already terrible looking. So much of that soft outer coating has been scratched off, from actions as simple and routing as setting it in a cup holder - the other day I bumped it against the edge of my desk (which is not sharp, at all) and it rubbed a chunk off. Unless you plan to literally never move it or take it anywhere, I would never recommend this color. I don't really understand what the thinking was behind Brumate's choice to make and sell this one. I wish I'd returned it and purchased/kept one of the regular varnished colors instead.*ORIGINAL REVIEW*I own a couple BruMate items and really love them (water bottle, wine cup), so I decided to give this a shot to keep my Monsters and regular canned drinks cold.I really prefer their holo glittery options, but none of them were available except the two-toned Glitter Mermaid one, so I gave Dark Aura a shot. While I do think it's pretty, it has that soft-touch grippy coating on it and it scratches SO easily. I posted a picture showing a scuff on the side of it, and all I did to cause that was carry it in a bag along with a box of crackers. I thought about requesting a return and getting something else, but I'll just keep it at the office and buy another sturdier one to carry outside of work. Despite not loving the Glitter Mermaid colors, I think I'll get that one next anyway.This thing is really versatile - I love that this can hold 12 and 16 oz cans, or you can even pour a drink directly into it and use the lid. I drink a Monster some mornings, but I take forever so they always get warm, even with a standard koozie on them. However, since I started using this, I can take 6+ hours to drink the thing and it's still cold. Then, if I want to drink one of my 12oz Zevia's, all I have to do is drop the little freezer insert in the bottom.BruMate is slightly pricy, but I think it's worth it. I'd definitely recommend - just don't get Dark Aura.
