5.0 out of 5 stars HARD TO SET UP & DOES NOT WORK WITH SMART TV
If you got this for the viral TV strip lights it DOES NOT WORK WITH SMART TV’s. You need an external streaming device. You need a Philips hue bridge, AND the sync box if you want it to sync with your audio or tv display.. and the price tags are hefty.It worked really well which is why it gets 5 stars but I didn’t think it would be this difficult to set up, also because it’s not compatible with smart tv’s. There weren’t even any informational videos out there for this or just online in general.. so I have photos attached if anyone has trouble with setting up for a fire smart tv. Only if you have a Samsung smart tv it’ll sync, not even the hue essentials app will work correctly. You need to get a fire stick or any external streaming device, plug it into the sync box, change the audio to AV Sync tuning, resolution to 1080, (I think the fire stick starts over 2000 and it didn’t work), display range to adaptive, then go into the hue app on your phone and update the advanced settings to Dolby digital vision enhanced compatibility but I’m not sure if this just for the fire stick since it uses Dolby digital image. Also make sure your fire stick is in the second or fourth HMDI outlet on the sync box. SUPER SPECIFIC and confusing but I was so happy when I got it down. The colors for the hue lights are so perfect. I love how you can manually and voice control it with Bolo Alexa, and your Philips hue app.The colors are very nice very warm very bright, especially for any mood as well and for any holiday that you’d like to change the colors to. It adds a very nice ambience.

The media could not be loaded. I can't believe how much I love this light bar. The instructions were very clear, but hooking it to the Philips Hue Sync Box, and Philips Hue bridge was a bit time-consuming and required some trial end error. You need those two products in order to get the bar to follow the on-screen light. Otherwise it will just be a light bar.I have an 85" TV and used the 75" strip and it still looks amazing. Sometimes the strip starts to fall because the adhesive isn't amazing but I just press it back on. You could easily get another adhesive strip.Once it's all plugged in and you have the app settings the way you like, it's 0 maintenance after that. It comes on when my TV is on and turns off with my TV as well.

These lights are great for setting up on a TV, but be aware that they aren’t a complete solution on their own. You’ll need additional equipment, including the Philips Hue Bridge (which controls the lights) and the Philips Hue Sync Box (which syncs the lights). They won’t work just by connecting them to the TV—you’ll also need a gaming console or another device like Apple TV connected to your setup. Although they are expensive, the quality makes them worth it. I wish I had done more research before buying, as these were my first Philips Hue products.

A friend has one of the many "knock-off" brands of LED strips (I think he has GOVEE, but not sure) on the back of his tv, and it looks amazing. It's actually quite bright, and although it doesn't sync with what he's watching, there are a lot of different modes/patterns he can setup, and it looks awesome.I figured I'd step it up a notch and get this so it can sync with my new FireTV QLED Omni, which has an Xfinity media box and a PS5 attached to it. The lights do sync with both inputs, but they're nowhere near as bright as I thought they'd be. I realized immediately after setting them up that I was influenced by two things: one being my friend's bright setup, and the other being what I will call misleading advertising by Philips Hue. If you look at the product page, you'll notice they never show a simulation of just this light strip - the entertainment areas include a bunch of other Hue lights. I think that's because this light strip is nowhere near as bright as it should be for what it costs. Does it still look nice? Yes, it still looks cool. Does it enhance the experience? Yes. Should it cost what it does? Not a chance.I still gave it a four because, overall, it does exactly what it's expected to do...but it really shouldn't cost what it costs, given the (relatively) low brightness level.

How is this thing even a thing?? I came back here to check reviews as I was putting this up. I have Phillips hue around the entire house. This isn’t a light- this is a garden hose. Seriously. I have a 65 inch tv and I can’t wrangle this one inch snake to go around the curves/corners(2023 tv). There can not possibly be this many good reviews. It is literally like wrapping a garden hose around the end of your tv. The sticky mounts are a joke. I ended up using duct tape to get it to stick in place. If I did a video you guys would see how this is impossible. There is no fix- except duct tape. How is this possibly working for people?? At $200 I expect ALOT better. A led light that I got for $20 is vastly better.I haven’t yet turned on the Tv. Maybe there is something magical that happens that will make me forget the duct tape I have holding this thing on. It’s one inch thick and does NOT bend!
Beautiful - Worth every cent
Bought this after watching a reel on Instagram, lol.At first was skeptical cause it seemed a bit pricey for just a strip of hue light.But this my friends not just a light IT IS THE ONE (in Morpheus' voice -matrix, lol) - its an absolute beauty and gives a certain ambiance to your living room, and for gamers oh my!!! you don't wanna be left out of this gives surprisingly immersive gaming, it just makes everything extra and perfect.Highly recommend, but I must warn you once you buy it your living room will never remain the same again.

Excellent product with lots of choice
The product came well packaged and the stick-on supports for attaching the strip to the TV work very well supporting it as required around the back of the TV and is easily connected and the bridge detects the available connections. Simple to use and when you set up the selection App we did it on an iPad and phone and both worked very well giving a wide variety of combined colors and effects. for what we needed it offers both bright back ground light during the day around the TV or dim light when watching later in the evening to enjoy your favorite show or film.We have not set up all the variations or linked it to react to the show so just getting used to having a nice controllable light surrounding the TV to give a relaxing evening or day time film.Would highly recommend
