5.0 out of 5 stars Noodles for days!
As long as I don't run out of flour and eggs...I'll never run out of pasta! This machine is awesome. once you get the hang of it and develop your own "style" it's like 2nd nature to whip up some pasta for a dinner dish! Super easy to learn and operate and just as easy to clean up afterwards! If I could give it 6 stars I would!
5.0 out of 5 stars works well
got this as a gift for 13 year old grandson who loves to cook pasta. Works well. easy to follow directions. A part broke and got in touch with them to get part replaced. Fixed and working again. so everyone is happy to have him making pasta for the family again!
5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!
Super fun and easy pasta maker that makes tons of different pastas and all taste amazing!
4.0 out of 5 stars This is a large machine
This is very large, has a lot of parts and seems overwhelming to use. I opened it, realized it was an impulse purchase and then tried to return it. Returning this product is not cheap. So, be aware you will have to pay to return it.It is the size of a large counter top ice machine. If you want to spend time and money making your own pasta, then this is for you. My brother and his kids love using theirs. But, I decided a box of pasta costs less and is easier, than buying the right flour and making the mess just to have spaghetti. This is supposed to be a good machine, so best of luck!
1.0 out of 5 stars Don’t get your hopes up
I ordered this with high hopes and told everybody I knew about my order, and it came just in time for dinner. I was incredibly excited to start making my own fresh pasta and it seemed easy enough- and it was… until it wasn’t. The machine started mixing my ingredients but it never extruded pasta!!! It looks like a bad design thing where instead of pushing out the pasta, it falls through the machine. We tried three different tips, four different times, with four different mixtures and not only was it a waste of time, it was a waste of ingredients. I was severely disappointed with the results (or lack thereof) of this machine and ended up silently packing it up. I ended up having to pick up dinner as this took over two hours of trying, waiting, trying and now because I told everybody about my excitement for this product I have to relive the disappointment of this machine every time someone asks me how my pasta making night went.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this pasta machine!
Seriously, this is something you must have in your kitchen if you love pasta. It is so easy to make pasta, gelato, extract juice and meat grinder. I made 3 batch of noodles already. I noticed a big difference when you let the noodle dry for a couple of hours and over night. It taste more chewy and bouncy. If you have time, definitely make it a day earlier. The noodles taste so much better. It only takes 15 min to make the pasta after you add the ingredients. Really love this pasta machine!
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful pasta machine!
I wouldn't normally purchase an item with a five star rating of only 63%. After reading reviews and tips from others who enjoyed this item I though I'd give it a chance and purchase it. I am glad I did. This is a wonderful pasta maker! The main thing to remember is to use the correct amount of flour and liquids. And watch some of the videos on YouTube on the Emeril Everyday channel with Chef Claire. She gives wonderful tips if the pasta is too dry or too wet and how to remedy those issues.I love this pasta maker! I normally make pasta by hand which I love doing and will continue to do. When I am a bit more pressed for time I will use the Emeril Pasta & Beyond Pasta Maker. Making pasta by hand normally takes me between 90 and 120 minutes. Using this pasta maker a one pound (or double batch) takes about 20 minutes.I have used this several times and have made linguine, spaghetti and squid ink fettuccine. All came out great and tasted incredibly fresh compared to boxed pasta. And it cooks significantly faster than boxed pasta. My only issue is the pasta discs are a little hard to clean and can take a bit of time to clean well. I haven't placed them in the dishwasher yet but will try that the next time I use my machine.Normally it's only me and my wife to cook for. One thing I love about this is you can make either an 8 oz batch or a 16 oz batch which is a great option if you don't want to have more than one meal of pasta. I start to heat my water when I begin to make the pasta. The timing is pretty close. Another thing I love is you don't have to use a drying rack for this pasta. You can if you'd like but it is not necessary.I definitely recommend this as I have not had any issues with it and it makes a very nice, fresh quality pasta in a timely fashion.
3.0 out of 5 stars quite disappointing for ravioli/lasagna noodles; but easy to clean!
It's fun to use and easy to clean. A bit of tinkering is needed to get the moisture of the dough just right. Best results with semolina flour and just-right liquid-to-flour ratio. What is most disappointing is the wide noodle adapter. The resulting noodles are just barely wide enough for a standard 2" ravioli press, and because of the helical extrusion mechanism, the noodles always curve with one long edge significantly longer than the other. So it's not possible to extrude a ravioli noodle straight enough to cover more than 2 or 3 ravioli in length. Even then, you need to bend each noodle gently to take out the curve put in by the extrusion process. I don't see how you could make a lasagna with these noodles, unless you had a banana-shaped lasagna dish.In retrospect, I wish I had tried one of the cake-mixer-style combined-function pasta makers. They more closely resemble the old hand-crank pasta maker that, while quite tedious, got me better results. If you have tips on how to get this machine to make non-crooked ravioli/lasagna noodles, please reply!
