5.0 out of 5 stars Compact and Perfect for On-The-Go!
I recently purchased the JBL Clip 4 speaker, and it has quickly become my favorite portable speaker. The combination of its compact size and powerful sound quality is truly impressive.Firstly, the design is sleek and sturdy. The built-in carabiner makes it incredibly easy to attach to my bag, bike, or even a belt loop, making it perfect for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and beach trips. It's also water-resistant, which gives me peace of mind when I'm using it near water.Despite its small size, the sound quality is exceptional. The audio is clear and rich, with surprisingly deep bass for such a compact device. Whether I'm listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks, the JBL Clip 4 delivers a great listening experience. The battery life is also fantastic. I can get up to 10 hours of playtime on a single charge, which is more than enough for a day out. Plus, the Bluetooth connectivity is seamless, and I haven't experienced any issues with pairing or signal drops.Overall, the JBL Clip 4 is a fantastic portable speaker that exceeds expectations in both durability and sound quality. If you're looking for a reliable and high-performing speaker for your on-the-go lifestyle, I highly recommend giving the JBL Clip 4 a try. It's worth every penny!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound and very portable
We wanted a small speaker we could take with us and also to use to play white noise for the baby.First of all the battery life is fantastic. We had it playing white noise all night long and it still had charge. Charges with a USB C cable which is handy. The battery doesn't recharge that fast and there's no way of knowing what % you're at, but it does last for a fair amount of time after its power indicator switches to red. It's very lightweight and very portable, I love its small size and form factor. Good audio quality and it can output a fair volume for something so small. Obviously you're not getting amazing sound but it's more than decent for something so portable.Getting it connected via bluetooth was really easy. The only thing I noticed which is a little annoying is you need to disconnect it from the device it's connected to in order to get it to connect to another device. I wish there was a way to switch which device was connected more smoothly.Overall a great product, I would say it's worth the price tag.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, functional, LOUD & powerful little speaker
The media could not be loaded. This speaker is probably one of JBL’s best designs. Not only is it functional and maintains JBL’s great (Bose-like) quality within a reasonable price range for the average person, without paying Bose prices, this little speaker is so functional and portable. The carabiner clip works nicely, is strong, and this little speaker can jam! I truly recommend this model, even over other JBL speakers. My husband and I have several models from JBL, and this is probably my favorite! It also comes in great colors that elevate tech to a fashionable element, taking us out of the old tech era’s of bulky, plastics, “ugly” tech. JBL has definitely come into their own as a company, producing not only great quality sound at a seasonable price, but cool and fresh designs that are modern and relevant.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best small portable speaker ever
I bought afte3r seeing my friend's clip. This has a great clear and loud sound at the beach. I didn't even turn the volume all the way up because that would be too loud at the beach. The clip is perfect to hang the speaker on the umbrella or chair! This is high quality speaker!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Speaker
Super good value, I use it a lot on the golf course and is plenty loud enough for me, often don't even have the volume all the way up. battery lasts like 6-8 hours and charges fast, clip is super convenient and fits on so many things.
4.0 out of 5 stars A Significant Improvement
The vast majority of the reviews I read before buying this led me to believe that the sound quality was so similar to the Clip 3 that it wasn't worth upgrading. My Clip 3 has been a great speaker—I'll probably keep finding uses for it until it won't hold a charge anymore, hopefully not anytime soon—but honestly...I really wanted to upgrade because it's one of the last devices I own with a Micro USB connector for charging.Anyways, the Clip 4 has turned out to be a noticeably better speaker. Reading over JBL's own writings about the Clip 3 and 4, it seems like version 4 incorporates a passive radiator (like their larger portable speakers), which explains the much improved bass and low-midrange clarity. It won't fool anyone at high volumes, but for low volume playback in a quiet space—which is what I always used my Clip 3 for anyways—it does manage to sound a bit larger than its size suggests it should. My Clip 3 is a noisy speaker; with no audio playing, there's always some low-level hissing that's clearly audible if it's close enough to the ear. It also seems to impart a barely perceptible crunchy distortion onto everything I play through it. The Clip 4, on the other hand, is dead silent when nothing is playing, and doesn't have that gritty veil of distortion over the upper-mids and treble frequencies; possibly a side effect of the 3.5mm TRS input being removed. The titular clip on version 4 has a slightly wider opening, and the larger space inside the clip makes it easier to maneuver onto some things I couldn't get the Clip 3's carabiner over. At the narrowest point, the Clip 4's opening measures about 5/8" wide, only slightly larger than the Clip 3's 9/16" opening. Now for the downsides:The Clip 4's power and pairing buttons are much easier to press (i.e., accidentally) than the recessed buttons on the side of the Clip 3. Not a huge issue if it's sitting or hanging somewhere solid and stationary, but I could imagine that it might turn itself on/off or go into pairing mode if it's swinging around on a backpack or something. I put mine into pairing mode by mistake twice while handling it to measure the carabiner opening.Of course, I have to mention the loss of the analog input. I admit that I rarely ever use(d) it on the Clip 3, but it was indispensable when I needed it in a pinch. The USB Type-C port does not have a dust cover; another omission from the Clip 3's design. I never cared for it, but it's worth mentioning if you use yours in dusty or wet environments. Maybe not a huge issue, since the Clip 4 carries an IP67 rating. Finally, the carabiner clip just doesn't feel as sturdy. Version 4 appears to use some kind of plastic hinge, where the Clip 3's was made of anodized aluminum like the rest of the hook. It may well hold up for years just like the previous version, but only time will tell.Overall, The Clip 4 is a respectable step-up in sound quality, with a few odd design changes from version 3 that may or may not make it less reliable, depending on how you intend to use it. For my use case—quietly listening to music and podcasts in bed, or during power outages when I can't use my hi-fi—it fits the bill perfectly so far.Oh, and one last thing: this "Grey" color scheme is properly weird. The aluminum parts are a kind of golden orange, the plastic clip and button accents are what I can only describe as "puce," and the JBL logo is some kind of desaturated teal color. It looks so strange that it's almost bad, but I love it.
Parfait
