5.0 out of 5 stars What’s not to love
With two of my favorite Hallmark actors in it - I knew I would like it, and did. Plots are interesting; yes a little hokey at times, but that’s part of the charm of these movies. They are done well, and are clean. That’s my main attraction.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent series.
I wish they made more
5.0 out of 5 stars Finally Hallmark! Mysteries that Belong Together.
It's about time Hallmark put these three installments together! While Hallmark can't seem to get out of their "Such and Such" Mysteries title rut, this series is one of the better in the genre due it's strong cast and creative plot devices. It won't get probability awards (Would a crossword puzzle editor really team up with the NYPD to solve murders? No.) but the actors sell it well enough for us to suspend the highly doubtful scenario and make us believe it. We are introduced to Tess Harper and Logan O'Connor in "A Puzzle to Die For" when Tess recognizes that crossword puzzles submitted by a regular contributor to her column might contain details related to some recent art thefts, one in particular where a murder takes place. O'Connor, the savvy detective, is suspicious at first but eventually comes to see the connection. He also figures out who's behind it all just in time to come to Tess' rescue. "Proposing Murder" reunites the two when a friend of Tess asks her to embed a marriage proposal in her Sunday puzzle but ends up dead on the day it's published. These two movies have been out individually for some time now, but the last of the trio, "Abracadaver" had not been released until now. I don't know if that was a marketing ploy by Hallmark or there were some sort of legal hurdles they had to jump through to finally put them in an ensemble, but I'm glad they finally did it. The third movie has more tricks and illusions than the others because it takes place at a magic club where Tess and her friends have come to celebrate her birthday. Solving the murder of a well-known magician will take a closer look behind the illusions but will the pair figure it out before it's too late for another up and coming magician? Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliot work well with each other balancing the "down to business" action with the growing attraction of their characters which moves the story along at a good pace. The supporting cast also does an admirable job with their characters. If you have enjoyed Chabert and Elliot in their other Hallmark appearances you won't be disappointed by this collection. While some of the other mystery series/collections are truly contrived this one is "plausible" as the Mythbusters would say and it's worth the price. Now if only Hallmark would do the same with The Gourmet Detective series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent.
Excellent.
Pretty good.
The are 3 mystery movies on this disc. Totally different for Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott. They both play their parts well but are also very different. A step out of the box if you will but still pretty good. I like them better in their own realm for Hallmark movies. They did these for a change. Pretty good though.
Parfait
Merci
