5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a good, simple timer?
Why is it so hard to find a good timer? I have tried several, and they keep falling short. Some have too many features, making them complicated to use. Some have strange ways of inputting the time, and most have anemic beepers and weak magnets. Many won't time over an hour.I just got a 2-pack of his one for $17 with coupon. It has super simple number buttons to just type in the time. It beeps loud enough to hear a few rooms away, without screeching at you when nearby. Easy enough to use except in direct sunlight.... not really an issue. This one also had marginal magnets. I may try trimming the plastic lip from around them so they contact the surface instead of being held off a bit. But it has a stand so you can place it upright on a table, and a hanger clip if you want to hang it on a nail. You can set it for 99 hours, way more than enough. If this thing holds up in the long run, and the beeper doesn't fade when the battery gets low, it is a winner! I'll update if it disappoints me.
5.0 out of 5 stars Repeat Purchase - so handy!
Love this timer so much I have purchased at least 4 (use in multiple locations because they are so handy). The benefits are many - easy to read, easy to set and reset, and, the thing that sets this apart from other timers is you can set for up to 99 hours (we now use it in lieu of an alarm clock many times). The volume is loud, however, normally not a problem. When we do want a bit quieter, we have found by putting a small square of post it note paper over the microphone, it reduces the volume, while still being fully audible. Can stand up, use the magnet, or there is a loop if you want to hang the timer instead.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice simple timer!
This timer is very simple to use. I love that it has numbers to actually put in the time you want instead of having to press the ^ button repeatedly to put in the time. It seems I be well made. The magnet is not very strong so it really doesn't stay in place on side of the refrigerator. You also have the option of hanging it or setting it on your counter. It has a nice little stand that works well. I would definitely recommend these timers!
4.0 out of 5 stars Not thick enough to stand up on its own
Yes, they have that little foot so they'll stay upright, but... it's tiny, and kind of a pain to pull out.I use these at work to keep track of multiple time-sensitive jobs, and it'd be nicer to not need the foot so I could just put it in my pocket when I'm off to the next thing.I'm not sure that little foot will hold up if I leave it out when I put it in my pocket.Alarm is good and loud. Even if I leave it behind, I can hear it a couple of rooms away.Very easy to enter countdown times.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Eazy to use Timer
This is a terrific timer. The pros are Excellent display... you can read the time across the room at a wide viewing angle, Can count up/down to 99Hrs, 99Min, 99Sec., Has keypad to easily set the time, none of this +/- to count up & down, Has a alarm silence switch so the alarm doesn't sound at 00:00 but does have a flashing red LED that flashes at 00:00 even if silenced, uses 2 AAA batteries, included, that last a long time and are inexpensive compared to button watch batteries.Con is the alarm is pretty loud.... so remove 3 small screws and add a 300 ohm resistor in series with the beeper and it's a perfect volume! Not everyone can do this, but I found it a really simple solution.BobM
5.0 out of 5 stars Good timer, nice and loud
Easy to use. Loud alarm. A kitchen must
5.0 out of 5 stars Silent while timing, wide range of times, and more precise than the old mechanical dial timers.
I found this timer! It is silent while timing (unlike the ticking of a mechanical timer) and can go up to 99 hours, perfect for timing our clothes dryer when I set it at 80 minutes (entered as 8000 to have it show 00 hours, 80 minutes, 00 seconds). We haven't used it for crock pot recipes but since those usually run several hours it would be great for timing those, too. (My wife has a crock pot recipe that runs several hours.)Only down side is that when the switch is set to speaker the beeping is loud (at least to my ears), so when timing the preheating of the oven or entering digits I often move the switch to "Silent" and wait for the LED to flash; but when actually cooking will slide the switch back to "speaker" so I don't mess when the food should come out of the oven.I haven't used the memory function (after it has gone blank, hitting a key will bring back the most recent time entered) but I could imagine it would be convenient if cooking several batches of cookies in a row or cooking one pizza right after another. We just haven't had the occasion to do this in the short time we have received the timer.Overall, I MUCH PREFER this timer to the mechanical timer.Overall, I definitely recommend this timer! (Same company also makes a 3-timers device, but we usually need just one timer at a time at home.)
3.0 out of 5 stars Ill-suited as a kitchen timer
This timer works electrically, but its human interface is ill-suited for cooking. In timer mode, when the period expires, the loud beeps become more and more urgent by the second, giving up after maybe five or ten seconds. But this is cooking, not physics. Even worse, it stops counting, so one cannot tell how much time has elapsed since the period expired. What should instead happen is that when the countdown period ends the time automatically changes into count-up mode, wile beeping at a reasonable fixed rate. When manually stopped, revert to the original countdown period, awaiting the button press to start again for the same period. Also, when keying the time period in, the beeps should not be a full alarm volume.
Works great.
I find myself relying on this timer more and more. Easy to use and very helpful.
2 pack digatle countdown kitchen timer
This is a great timer. You just put the time in instead of having to press the button for every min. or hour.nice loud sound so you can here it in another room and not have to pack it around with you. Good price.
It’s loud - I love it.
OK, it is loud as other reviewers have mentioned. BUT if you are in another part of the house or have hearing problems, this is the right timer for you.
Good set of features
Loud beep, useful silent option with just the flashing light indicator, numbers for quick set, count-up and count-down, hours:minutes:seconds, handy stand, magnets, and hole for hanging. All good.Unfortunately Bolo sent me only one of the two timers that I ordered, but they fixed it with a credit.
Hard to find! Easy to use!
Hard to find a timer with all the number buttons! So easy to use and doesn’t require you to scroll through all the numbers.
