This is a great life jacket!!! Worth every penny! I have used a few other brands for my dachshund and he would start to roll in the water due to not being balanced. This is the first life jacket that he is truly comfortable in and doesn’t look miserable when trying to relax . he actually is loving being in the water now. Great fit for him and he swims more confident. Arm openings are nicely cut giving him room to run and swim naturally. I can see the difference that he is balanced and well supported but not to supported. Highly recommend!

The media could not be loaded. I started taking my pup for weekly recreational swims at a local pool a few months ago. They supply life jackets, but they were either too bulky, or the straps were way too long and dangly, or the fit wasn't quite right, or all of the above, so I bought this and love it! It's well-made and has a sleek fit and fun bright color. The front slips over her head with no extra neck buckle which makes it easier to put on when she's excited and squirmy. There's a small strap at the neck that can adjust the fit if needed. I don't usually use it, but there's a ring under the back handle can where a leash can fasten. One feature I really like is that the belly straps have Velcro, and excess length on the strap can be rolled up. She weighs about 55-60 pounds and is wearing a Medium. I highly recommend!

While considering life jackets half the cost of this one, my decision was that my precious little 10-pound Shih Tzu is worth any expense for his life. Mercy, the Ruffwear Life Jacket is well worth the money! It is very well made, it fits my mini Shih Tzu like a glove, & it has excellent features as follows. The handle is perfectly positioned & there is a safety loop, conveniently & nicely out-of-the-way, underneath it. The 2 adjustable belly straps each have a perpendicular Velcro strap that secures the excess strap length out of the way so it looks tidy, & doesn’t dangle. The neck opening is adjustable & it has a protective sleeve that both guards the hair/fur around the neck, & provides a place to slide the excess strap so it does not dangle. The Ruffwear Life Jacket is very easy to put on & take off, & it must be comfortable as my little guy helps to put it on by poking his head through the neck hole for me! Thank you!

I tried two other cheaper options, returning both before I bought Ruffwear. It fits my 35lb Frenchie perfectly and he can move freely in it with comfort. He can swim safely and he looks very handsome on the paddle board with me. Excellent quality.

It fits great! Tight around the neck and belly. It stays in place. Comfortable for the dog to wear all day out on the water. It is nice it has a loop hook on top of the vest of a leash. The handle is strong, which makes lifting them out of the water easy enough.

My guy Chewie is a 120lb water dog. There is no water he will not attempt to swim in. We live in the Ozarks where lakes, rivers and creeks all collide positioned .5 mile from the lakeside. One of my biggest fears is that Chewie will jump from cliffsides and he has on many occasions without a vest. Each and every time I die inside. It's just an anxiety I no longer have to worry about. This is a tremendous game changer. Chewie can go on extended boat rides, swim in open lake and climb on a large lake lily pad with his life vest on. The vest adds a noticeable buoyancy to the girthiest section of his body. He no longer has to snorkel swim. He head is fully elevated above the water. He will wear his vest for long periods of time in full comfort with easy mobility. It's not bulky or cumbersome on his already thick body. The color is bright and a great contrast against the water especially open water. I am positive this vest not only prevents a unsafe environment for my dogs but also prevents an unsafe environment for me. I would be that person who will do anything to safe m6 dog from danger even if it meant jumping off the cliff after him.

Ruffwear Floatcoat size smallSpoiler, this will repeat a lot of what the other reviews have said, they are right.1st, yes, this thing is pricey, but it is very well designed and made. I figured for something that has to work and last a few years, it's worth it. It's strong and fits like a glove on my Springer. She's 35# with a 25" chest. Size small per the sizing chart fits her just right.2- I like the single handle. I've used this style for years and it lets me slide my hand back and forth to balance based on what's happening in the water and I have the other hand free to hold myself. It is stitched very securely and reinforced.3- It has flotation material all around the chest.(But the straps can be exposed at the bottom. Not good. Her old jacket had a piece of fabric to completely shield the chest. We'll see if chafing becomes a problem.)4- The neck flotation encircles the neck completely with no chance of chafing straps. The trade-off is that it's a little tougher to get out of. Still learning here.5- The placement of the flotation as mentioned above let's her swim with head higher in the water; a lot less snorting, grunting and head shaking. This is better! She seems to like it just fine, as if it weren't there.Overall, I'm very glad I bought this one. I just had to get over the price; it's worth it for something that really works. Knock off one star because they should be able to offer this for less than 3X the competition.***I had been shopping to replace an Outward Hound jacket that lasted for 15ys(thanks OH!). But that version isn't available anymore. It's replacement has a dual handle which sounds great but I figured it would only balance correctly if using two hands. Nope, I need one hand to hold myself with.

Just recently got into paddleboarding and wanted to bring my pup along. Started researching dog life vests on fb sites I’m a part of asking for advice on the best ones. This one was the most highly recommended. It’s slim fitting and still assists with keeping my dog floating if he gets a bit tired or falls off the board suddenly. Doesn’t inhibit any natural movement and he’s quite comfortable in it. The grab handle is great also and holds up to pulling a 60# dog out of the water from a board.

Great life jacket for our < 10lb 3 Legged Pup
This jacket is comfy, fits well! Our little dog won't slip out of it which is especially important for her on our boat. Will buy this brand for our cats who are slightly bigger than our dog. We recommend this life jacket!
