5.0 out of 5 stars Works easy - even with old hands
I used this to take fluid out of the antifreeze receptacle in my Subaru. The instructions are very easy to follow. It worked perfect. Even with me small (female) older hands. I dismantled it after use and rinsed with plain water - it's good to go for another project.
5.0 out of 5 stars It works!
I needed a Sphon Pump that allowed me to empty the water out of the bottom of a Water Fall Fountain that stands about 4 feet tall and holds about 6 - 8 gallons of water in bottom: it pumps water to the top and it flows down into four small ponds that drop water down into the next, etc. This was perfect for my needs. I can drain water easily into a bucket(s) and dispose of water before cleaning inside or moving entire fountain into storage for winter.this would work perfectly on lawn mowers, snowblowers, fish tanks, etc.You do have to squeeze the bulb to get fluid going, but it is easy peezy.
4.0 out of 5 stars Low cost and worked well
Worked as intended. No complaints.
5.0 out of 5 stars Uses to transfer hydraulic fluid from a very inconvenient inlet in Typhoon Terror XVIII excavator
First off this says Siphon pump but it will pump fluid uphill which is how I used it. I think it may be called a siphon because the fluid may run faster / easier downhill if the outlet is below the inlet but it works fine either way.The hydraulic fluid inlet on the typhoon terror XVIII excavator is at the far side of the operator cabin below a little metal door and is nearly impossible to reach and poor in fluid without spilling. This pump worked very well to transfer the fluid. I over filled a little and had to reverse and pump some back out and it worked for that too. Strongly recommend. The Diesel fuel is right next to the hydraulic fluid and I ended up spending 5 times as much for a DC powered pump for that and after using both I think I would have been better off just buying an extra one of these. Your hand can get a little tired when transferring a lot of fluid but this one is so nice and small that it is just more convenient and a lot easier to keep clean. My only real complaint is the the outlet hose should be about 3 foot longer. It would also be nicer if they included a zip close bag to hold it once contaminated with oil or fuel.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!
I needed this to empty unused cans of fuel stored for the hurricane season into my truck. I will store the cans with a fuel stabilizer added for a year for use in my generator. If I don't use it then I put the fuel in my truck then refill with fresh fuel for the next year. It's a little slow and takes a short while to empty a five gallon gas can but it works and gets most of the fuel out.
3.0 out of 5 stars Pores slow?
I was trying to get gas out of a 15 gallon barrel and I got it siphoning but it comes out very slow but it does work
1.0 out of 5 stars waste of money
Went to use this the first time and it worked perfectly. A week later I went to use it again and the hand pump bulb stayed compressed. Would not release. I was trying to pump water in both instances. The only way it would release is if I took the hose off the allow air back into it. I checked the hose connection and made sure the arrow was in the right direction. Useless item
5.0 out of 5 stars Siphon
The newer vehicles don't allow anything in your gas tank to remove your gas. I used it for other things
Works perfectly, used for dehumidifier tank emptying
Pros:- easy to use and set up- no leaks (so far anyways)- clip holds tube in place- weight holds other end in place- saves my back!Cons: - none!I have a big bulky old dehumidifier that sits on the floor in my basement, and the water reservoir is big and heavy and I just used to dread emptying it. Bending and lifting heavy things can be hard on my back, so I came up with this idea to use this siphon pump to empty the dehumidifier tub into the drain in the concrete close by. Best decision ever! I don't even have to bend down to use the siphon, I just walk by, step on the pump maybe 5 or 6 times, and voila. The entire tub drains slowly down the drain! No lifting! No bending! No excuse not to empty it now! The little clip holds the tube in the tub, and the weighted metal piece I use on the other end to keep that part of the hose in the drain. Easy peasy! My basement is now much dryer because every time I walk by I just casually drain the dehumidifier!
Works very well, but isn't perfect
It moved fuel very well, but with the hose all bent, it is difficult to get it to sit on the bottom of the tank. The clamps that come with it, don't fit, they are too big and slide off. The hose fit tight enough over the fittings that they weren't needed. To hold the hose straight, I zip tied it to a rod and it worked well.
Simple, works well
After years of siphoning gasoline by sucking on a hose, I bought this pump, because I was tired of the spicy taste of gasoline. You're fortunate if you go through life never knowing what gasoline tastes like. The pump requires assembly, which is quick and easy.A couple of bulb squeezes establishes a siphon, quick and easy. Then the siphon will do the rest of the fluid transfer without furthrtcThe hose likes to curl up, so I inserted a 2 ft long piece of coat hanger wire in the pick up hose so it can extend straight to the bottom of the gas can or tank.Product works well, highly recommended.
Good item. Works well for pumping out fuel
I like the fact that this pump can transfer my unused gasoline from my boat tanks to my car easily without making a big mess. The only thing I changed out were the thin wire clamps that go on the ends of the hand pump holding the tubes. I put on some heavy duty screw type ones. Just to ensure no fuel leaks out while I'm pumping. Great deal and wuality seens good but i only used it once, but still do recommend it.
Works perfect
Compact with good transfer rate. Should be good for use with recreation vehicles.
