I spent a lot of time deciding whether or not to buy this bench since it seemed to be what I needed, but the reviews were mixed, but I’m very happy I did. Here are the highlights based on my experiences and others reviews.- it is very heavy…in my book that is good. That makes it sturdy and it appears to be real wood and not pressed plywood for the most part- I had no damaged items. It was packaged well with styrofoam all around annd inside. Anything can get damaged and shipping depending on how it’s handled so not really sure that that should be a factor.- some people commented on the paint, not being thick enough. Yes I can see the woodgrain, but it doesn’t look bad. In fact it proves its real wood and if you really need it to be a darker white, you could just paint it in my opinion it looks good.- I put this together by myself and my 13 year old son helped me a couple times - which I would say was needed. It took a little bit of time, but like I said, it’s well-made. If I did it with out stopping maybe 1.5-2 hours…but I took my time and just did it within my evening.- everything was amazingly well labeled and easy to figure out what went where. The reason it takes so long is because there is many steps and they do things the right way, like putting stoppers for the seat tops and soft clothes hinges for the storage areas.- Tons of storage!!- perfect size…fits 3-4 comfortably on it (I have teenagers)- for that price, well worth it. I would highly recommend buying of this fits in your space and you need something like I did!Was not paid for this review, nor was given it for free, just a person who was struggling whether or not to buy this and could have used more info!

item was nearly perfect! it missed the mark a little bit. This was supposed to be painted white but I’m probably going to have to paint it again as a lot of ‘blue’ wood lines are showing through, plus there were some minor cracks in the parts of wood, some dings, scratches I can probably live with. I definitely don’t want to return it for that (it took me 4 hours to put it together!) but overall it was exactly what I wanted to fit in my eat-in kitchen nook. So, 4.5 stars but I round up to 5 stars :)
4.0 out of 5 stars Looks nice but not easy to install and had damages from shipping
I am a pro Ikea assembler lol but it took me to assemble this the entire day. At the end the holes for hinges were not aligned and I had to change the screws and do some woodwork to make ot work. One other problem I have is the spring holds the lid up but not letting it close automatically. We have to push it down every time by hand.

I bought this because of all the good reviews. This thing had scratches and dings, and it was never opend before. A bunch of the holes didn’t lineup. The lid doesn’t close properly. This thing is terrible.

I have been dreaming about a breakfast nook for eight years since we moved into this house. I didn’t know what to do with the rectangular table that was too big for our 5 x 7 breakfast nook. It has sentimental value since we bought it when we first got married 25 years ago. I finally broke down and found my perfect round table and ordered the corner nook. I couldn’t be happier with the results. Although the assembly was difficult because I did it by myself, I waited patiently for help with the lids. They were too heavy to hold and drill at the same time. I also ordered cushions to fit that haven’t arrived yet. Customer service was extremely responsive and helpful and I would definitely order from them again.

You may need two people to assemble which takes a couple of hours. My husband and son put it together without too much difficulty. It looks great, and is exactly as pictured. I purchased the cushions separately, however they are specifically made for this set and it looks great, is functionable for storage and comfortable to sit!

The alignment is off for the middle section. Also, one of the sections was not drilled in the correct place. We did not find the instructions easy to follow, the pictures need to be clearer so we knew what we were looking at. Also, a couple of places the wood split when we assembled. Overall, we were disappointed.
Not worth the price
The alignment is not right as there’s a gap in the middle section. The paint job is very poor. There hinges open and hold but not all the way hence you hit your head trying to take things out as it doesn’t open all the way and hold there. If the above were not an issue I’d give it 5 stars and be willing to pay such a huge cost but for this price I expect the best given I could have got it custom made for $1k. Should have done that.
