I’d give it five stars but D batteries are required and they’re heavy so sometimes the the battery spot pops open. Having said that… Do you have kids that don’t listen? Kids that are lazy and sleep until noon? If you answered yes, then THIS is the megaphone for you! Turn it up to high, get in their face and nicely them to to WAKE UP! It even has a lovely siren to give them a good startle. Does your friend live across the street and she’s bad at responding to your texts, let her know from your kitchen window to check her d*mn phone already! Best Bolo purchase I’ve made in YEAAARRSSS! I highly recommend.

The megaphone emits a constant buzz even when you are not talking. It means that you cannot hear others speak when you ar holding the megaphone when turned on. And the buzz comes across the the audience as well. I needed a solution for talking to a group of about 25 outside when my voice did not carry quite enough for all to easily hear. This megaphone does not work for that application. It would be ok for a larger situation where the operator did not have to interact with the audience, so maybe it would be ok for soccer coaching situations and the like. But maybe an easy-to-find on/off button would help.
