5.0 out of 5 stars Great mold
The media could not be loaded. Despite negative reviews, I find this easy to fill and unmold. You don't need to slice into the mold to get the tapers out! Trick is to use silicone spray made specifically for candle molds and to "jiggle" them a bit when removing, as seen in video.I'm a beekeeper so my candles are all 100% beeswax. I use small hairpins to keep wicks straight, works great.I have maybe 6 different molds from Mann Lake and they're all great.
1.0 out of 5 stars These are not easy to release
I absolutely destroyed the pillar candles trying to get them out of the mold. This was after using Mold release spray both prior to pouring the wax ABD after the candles had cured. Rather disappointing especially for the cost of the Mold.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worked great with bees wax
I was concerned after reading some of the reviews but when using pure bees wax, they turned out perfectly without using any mold release. The bees wax shrinks a little bit as it cools which made the candles super easy to remove. I highly recommend!!!
3.0 out of 5 stars Can’t remove candle from mold?
I received the Mann Lake Taper Candle Mold. How do you remove the candle from the mold????
2.0 out of 5 stars good luck with extraction
Near impossible to get the candles out even with mold release. out of 4 batches, I was only able to get 2 usable candles and those were still heavily damages from trying to get the candles out. by the 4th batch I just ended up cutting out the wax and reusing it. I gave it 2 stars because I actually got what I ordered and I received it very quickly. I'm sure Mann Lake's other products a good, this setup is just not good for making tapers. ( not to mention the price is insane. If it worked, it would have been almost worth the price)
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!
I love this mold so much! I almost didn’t get it based off of mixed reviews, but I have another mold similar that I got from Europe, which I love, but the size of the tapers wasn’t what I needed. This mold is the same concept, so I risked it and dropped the money. So glad I did. I’m not sure why people are having trouble getting the candles out? I use pure beeswax (maybe that has something to do with it?) and sometimes dye (pictures), and even when the candles aren’t dry/cooled all the way, they pop right out. The ONLY con I can think of, is it’s designed in a way that doesn’t allow maximum cooling speed, so it does take a few hours minimum (more like five) until the candles can be pulled out without risk of warping. I’d encourage the company to think of a circular deign with a hole in the middle to allow more heat to release since this material is notorious for holding heat. Other than that, putting my impatience aside, I’ll be saving up to purchase a few more so I can make my candles faster to keep up with the demand for my little business :) So happy with it!
