5.0 out of 5 stars excellent product with excellent value
I have a couple of larger rotary tools and but haven't had use for one this size. I've done delicate projects with the larger tool in the past, but today I had a particular challenging product. I've been thinking about it for several days and was dismayed I gave my hanging stand for one of my Dremel tools to my son, which would have made it easier to do this very fragile repair, but who lives out of state.Since borrowing it was impractical, I picked up this tool...the cheapest I could find for what I figured was one time use.I love this tiny tool. So light weight, it was so easy to keep my hand completely steady and view my item. The larger tools can be unweildy for something so fragile and small, but this size was perfect. The power was perfect, the little light that increases visibility is perfect. The case is perfect, ease of use....I really couldn't ask for anything better. It came with several very small crushed diamond sanding bits, and they were all exactly what I needed to get my item back to almost new condition without causing new damage, which was my concern.Recommended. I didn't get the advertised gift set, just the basic set shown, but at the time of this review, the basic set includes a charging cable, instructions, 2 small plastic boxes of various bits and discs and mini saw wheels and a wrench (to use the sanding and saw blade wheels and a really small and convenient case--perfect as a small gift, too.I'm beyond pleased and actually know I'll have a lot more use for this afterall.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great little dremel it came charger and ready
The dremel came with a case and cable plus plenty of bits. No instructions were in the box. But the trigger is easy enough, keep pressing the button and it goes faster and then offWork great. It came charged, I got my project done without charging it once.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good tool for light duty projects
I have used this product for one moderately demanding project and find that it performs satisfactorily, but it is intended for relatively light use. The biggest deficiency of the tool is the collet collar, which has no flats, so there is no way to use a wrench to tighten the collet so that it firmly grips the shank of the grinding/cutting tool. Consequently, the knurled collar loosens with use, allowing the shank of the tool to telescope from the collet and lose some dynamic stability. The spindle lock is marginally adequate, and it flexes noticeably when hand tightening the collar. Continuous loaded use for about five minutes causes the motor to heat to the point that it stops rotation for a brief cooling period. Battery life is surprisingly good. The tool's small diameter and short length enable its use in confined spaces.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great tool great price!
For my clay earring business, the Hardell drill tool has become an essential part of my toolkit. It allows me to drill clean, precise holes in polymer clay earrings without any risk of cracking or distorting my designs. The drill is lightweight, comfortable to hold, and easy to maneuver, making it ideal for both delicate studs and larger statement pieces. The adjustable speed settings are perfect for customizing my approach, letting me work confidently with different clay thicknesses and styles. Setup and bit changes are quick and hassle-free, saving me valuable time. Overall, the Hardell drill tool has been reliable and durable with daily use. For any jewelry maker looking to create professional-quality clay pieces, this tool is a fantastic investment! Highly recommend!
3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but flawed
It’s a nice tool with a decent number of accessories for a nice price. I bought it after my old pen drill died. I started using the Hardell the day I got it, for modifying game miniatures made of fairly soft plastic. Drilling the main application I need from the tool, but at its lowest rpm the drill would hardly turn when I put the bit against a small pilot hole. Since the on/off and rpm controls are conflated, it makes work difficult. The tool is hard to hold steady when increasing or decreasing rpm, and turning the drill on before pressing it to the place I want the hole leads to a lot of scarring on the plastic. The on/off and rpm controls need to be separate buttons rather than having to cycle through rpm to turn it off.The Hardell may be fine for other applications, but it’s very clumsy as a drill and that’s not only bad for your project, it’s a little dangerous as well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great little tool!
Easy to use, flashlight is nice on it and I was able to make what I needed with it! Worked great on wood, metal and antler. Absolutely love that it’s cordless
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the money
Great product for the money. Built fairly well but not are for strenuous use. Lots of accessories. Does vibrate some and does omit some noise but it’s very manageable inside a household.
4.0 out of 5 stars It's for small projects, treat it as such
People are complaining about it not having enough power, but that's the point. Even in the manual, it says it's not for heavy duty projects. That being said, it came with a lot of features and attachments! It came with stuff I didn't even know I was gonna need, and ended up getting them recommending to me after. Very grateful for the rechargable battery so I don't have to buy batteries, and it's more powerful than you think (it can cut through resin and popsicle sticks, as I've learned when I tested it on the popsicle sticks stuck to my resin project). Unfortunately, the sanding sleeves were a little too loose, and doesn't have a good mechanism like the saw, so they may slip off while sanding, but not unusable. I also think because of how powerful it is, it should have a two part power on mechanism (A light signifying it's on, and then the light for each level. That being said, if you need to cut and sand your prototypes made of clay to make your BJD dolls, I highly recommend it! Even if there's better quality ones out there, this is the perfect rotary tool to start off with.
