5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, Good Design, Well Built
This table is very well designed and excellent for it purpose. It worked so well for my wife that we bought a second one for me. They were both well packed and complete. The mechanism on the second one appeared broken at first glance but closer inspection found that a shift of parts during transport had apparently shifted it - with a slight bit of pressure it snapped back in place and works as it should. Assembly was not difficult although time consuming and the instructions are clear. Each piece of hardware is clearly labeled and relate easily to the pictured steps in the assembly instructions diagram. One piece of advice based on "lessons learned," in assembly step number 6 only tighten the "D: screws finger tight during this step. That will help at step number "8." During assembly of our first one this was the only place of difficulty - step 8 - aligning the 4 legs for the top section with the bottom 4. Also, they seemed to slide very hard so when assembling the second one I tried spraying a light coat of WD40 on them. I don't recommend this as it was only marginally helpful and made clean-up more difficult. Having left the tightening of the "D" screws until the end actually was enough to make the whole process easier.Comments on the table itself: first, when fully assemble and at its lowest setting on all four supports the weight of the cantilevered end slopes down slightly. This is easily corrected by raising the front supports slightly and tightening the knurl knobs. It is then level and remains in place very well with no slipping. The second, and only other comment relates to the height adjustment. Because of the 4 tight fitting supports and the 8 knobs that actually lock each support in place setting a chosen height and holding it may not be a one person job (I expect I will find out for sure when I have to make the adjustments) and I would probably avoid this if height adjustment is expected to be a frequent occurrence.Even with those notes I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone that understands this.ADDED NOTE 6/10/22: On one of the two tables we have noted that every time the table is moved one of the wheels "locks." This is disconcerting and very annoying. On closer examination I found the either the caster is set too high into the leg or, the locking mechanism latch on the faulting cast rises too high. The result is that as the caster turns with table movement the latch hits the bottom of the lower shelf thereby "automatically" locking the caster.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good buy, but M8x1.25 stem casters need rep.
This is a nice table for the price. It has more shelf and storage space which is what i need. It has 8 screw handles that secure the 4 vertical poles that are used to support the table top. So it is secure. It takes more to adjust the height but i rather have the security. The only thing that is fussy are the wheels. The caster stems are M8x1.25 and the wheels are plastic that wear quickly on rough hard floor. I have a new set picked out for under $20.It delivered fast, was well packaged, and was easy to assemble.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great Concept, Subpar Manufacturing
Let's start with the good, the functionality of this is superb. The tilt split-top, adjustable height, and lower side shelf are all well thought out in terms of practicality and usefulness.Areas for possible improvement, design. The side shelf could afford to be higher and an optional front and/or side wall to place between the support arms to prevent items from falling off would be nice for those who want them. Yes, this might mean shortening the extension rods, but 9 inches is quite long. I think 6 to 7 inches is more than enough.Become universal for right and left side placement. As the table is currently designed, use of the tilt top feature is only for placement on the right side of your seating furniture. The tilt top comes attached to the top support bar with predrilled holes on the right side. This could function on the left side of your seating arrangement, but only as a flat table top.The bad, subpar manufacturing. For almost $90, I expect better quality build materials than this. You'll see in my photo, one of the two extension arms came bent at the attachment bracket. Turns out, they both were and I had to gently hammer them flat so I could attach them. The table top looks cheap with the lamination (I know, it's particle board) and has nicks and scratches on the sides and edges. Funny enough, the part number stickers were placed over where the side laminations met together. Seriously, that was a nice touch that made me chuckle. My biggest gripe is the support arms, they appear to be made from an extremely fragile and weak aluminum. Word of caution when assembling, DO NOT tighten the screws much further than hand tight. You'll notice when tightening these screws into the support arms, they never feel super snug. Keep turning, and you'll notice the support arms start to cave in at the screw point. Tighten too far, and I feel the support arms might break. One of the wheel inserts on the base had slid too far into the hollow base shaft - meaning I had to pry it forward to the drill hole so I could actually attach the wheel. You might also hear rattling around in the support arms and/or base. This is probably the metal shavings from the drilled holes. I pulled four small metal discs out of the shafts and one remains lodged somewhere in the base. You won't notice or hear them once assembled as it's a stationary object, but this speaks to the production and manufacturing quality. This may seem like a lot of complaining. It's not. Is it perfect? No. But, as an artist and someone who is right handed, this is perfect for my use.On close inspection and among individual pieces, this may look and feel cheap. Once assembled, it's pretty solid and sturdy. The top wood is a little darker than pictured - I got the rustic wood finish. But, if you're someone who prefers functionality over aesthetics, this is a solid choice. Is it perfect? No. Do I feel it's worth the $90? Based on production quality and materials, no. I would say $50 - 70. But, in terms of form and functionality, yes, it's reasonably priced.
5.0 out of 5 stars Super nice rolling stand
This is a very nice stand on wheels. Spacious top. Sturdy construction. Was very easy to assemble. Love the tilt top. Serves exact purpose for what I was needing. Love having the lower shelves for book storage. Very attractive stand. I'm quite pleased with it. Highly recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very practical. Easy to assemble (but took time)
Functional, easy to use.
Overall what I was looking for
This table is what I was looking for. Bought it because I recently love painting but wanted to sit on the couch. Really enjoy the adjustable hight and tilt table while still having 1 flat part. Love having the extra shelf for my other hobbies. The only thing I wish was better was the wheels.
