5.0 out of 5 stars Swivel feature is an added plus
I ordered three 24-inch and one 12-inch light to replace compact fluorescents that were not very bright in our galley kitchen. Plan was to connect the three 24-inch lights to cover a 72-inch cabinet run and then use the 12-inch light under a narrow 17-1/2" cabinet. (Would have preferred a 16" light but that wasn't available.) Wasn't sure I'd need to swivel the lights but they were only a few dollars more expensive than the flat lights so I decided to get them. At first I thought that was a mistake because when the first three 24-inch lights arrived two of them were broken at the swivel hinge. While the large box from Bolo was well cushioned, the box from the manufacturer does not provide any cushion at the swivel hinges where there's a weak spot so it's not surprising they were broken. Fortunately, the replacements arrived a few days later and were in good shape.I had originally planned on placing the lights at the front of the cabinet but realized that wouldn't be possible unless I moved an electric jar opener that sits in that space. I also wasn't able to place them against the wall because our backsplash is granite and the hole where the power supply came through was too small to accept the round romex clamp. As a result, I ended up placing the fixtures about 1-1/2" away from the wall. That was when I realized that the ability to swivel the lights was a great feature since it let me adjust how much light was aimed at the backsplash and counter-top. We also have a valance moulding that extends about 3" below the bottom of the cabinet so you don't see the lights or the wires at all.Installation is a bit tricky, especially if you don't have someone that can help you hold the light in place while you connect the wires and drill pilot holes for the screws. If you don't have help, I suggest using shorter length fixtures which are lighter and easier to work with. Also, it's possible to attach each light to the underside of the cabinet and then use the small connector (or small cable) to connect to the second or third light. In the end I stacked a bunch of books to keep the lights in place while I made the electrical connections, drilled the first pilot hole and screwed the first screw in. Since the lights don't weigh very much, one screw was enough to hold each unit in place for a few minutes until I could align it to drill the second pilot hole. The result: Lights are very bright and really enhance the backsplash and under-counter space. I have them on the lower setting and they are still plenty bright. I installed an LED dimmer switch so I can drop them even lower if necessary. I have them on the 3,000 K setting but might try the 2,700 to see if we like that more. All in all a good product at a good price.
5.0 out of 5 stars These are good lights, good CRI
We purchased two 48'' lights for under our kitchen cabinets. Previously I had purchased similar lights that were not swivel, and those were harsh, shining straight out into the eyes, and you could see the individual LEDS behind the diffuser. These swivel lights, however, are even nice lighting, shine down or back (or wherever you point them), attractive. The CRI is excellent, quite broad spectrum. 4000k is usually slightly stark for me in its blueness, but while these faithfully hit 4000k color temperature, they still carry an "undertone" of the 2700k CCT color node. It's hard to describe, but it works when you see it. All three color settings, meanwhile -- 4000k, 3000k, 2700k -- are well handled and attractive. The one thing I will say about these lights is the two brightness settings are really bright and really, really bright. I recommend using these with an LED dimmer switch. I rarely, if ever, have the lights undimmed and at the brighter switch setting. I keep them on the less bright setting and vary the dimming from day to night. (The brightest mode might work better on a workbench or a ceiling. But it's pretty strong for under the counter.)The design of these lights is thoughtful and everything seems good to excellent quality, except the diffuser which is a flexi-plastic, and the color temperature switch feels a bit flimsy. We'll see how it goes. All in all I am extremely happy with this selection. If I think of it, someday I'll update this review with pics. Cheers -
5.0 out of 5 stars They're perfect!
The media could not be loaded. Exactly what I was looking for, love the swivel option and the 3 different light settings it has, you can also adjust the brightness. These were hardwired they've performed really well. I have not had any issues with it at all. I love it and would purchase again! I hope the video helps!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great versatile light. You have 3 light temperature settings and 2 brightness settings.
Great versatile light. You have 3 light temperature settings and 2 brightness settings (plus OFF setting) so if you’re not sure what to buy you can experiment with this. The tilting light lets you direct the light where you need it. Nice.Quality is good. The AC cord only plugs only into one side and is quit long so I had to cut it and add a new plug. The end that plugs into the unit is unique so you have to use their cord, or hardwire it. They provide everything to hardwire. You can also string them together with the provided unit to unit cable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great!
Bought this and 24" version to use in the kitchen. They both work great. So far we have used them at 50% brightness and they are just right. The color temperature switch works well, we like the lowest setting which gives the warm light. Installation was straightforward. The screw holes are very small and deep, so making a template for installation is the way to go. They have knockouts in the back in the center which is where I needed them to be. There are others near the ends also.
3.0 out of 5 stars 2 out of 3 lights ordered arrived with a failure in operation and/or a complete FAIL in delivery!
We ordered three lights on two different occasions and one arrived broken although the delivery was fine and we have to send it back because a function did not work. Then the third one arrived in the worst condition possible as the box was ripped open there was no outer box somebody taped up both ends and all the hardware was missing. I wasn't sure the light would work but with the some fixes I got it to work and so I'm not returning it. I would caution anyone buying these under cabinet lights to be prepared that there may be a high failure rate. Otherwise the lights are great if they work. Super easy to install as well. Love the tilt option!
5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with these lights
I installed these LED undercabinet lights in my kitchen. They replace fluorescent lights that I had for years and began to fail. I really like that I'm able to set the color temperature. I also installed a dimmer switch to go along with these lights. I really like that I can dim the lights when I'm not working in the kitchen. I thought the installation was relatively straightforward. I have been using these lights now for roughly one month and am very happy with my purchase and the functionality of these lights.
Bought 3, after very little use they are starting to fail.
This product is a low quality LED. After 3 months the brightest mode doesn’t work. Tried to talk to the seller but they just brushed me off.Terrible product, even worst seller. Don’t buy anything from this seller, it’s all junk.
