5.0 out of 5 stars The Winner Is…
I’ve been taking fish oil, filtered to remove mercury. It’s a much bigger gelcap. TBO I saw an advertisement about a different brand of krill oil. It emphasized Antarctic krill oil as being from pristine waters, krill having less toxic chemicals like mercury, and being a superior source of omega 3s. Then a spiel about their high quality and hurry to buy, etc. it was 500mg to be taken twice a day. Well, this is the same thing, only at a much better price point for one bottle. This bottle expires 4/25. It’s not going to be here nearly that long though. This should last three months easily. It does say not for use by pregnant or nursing mothers or if taking RX meds. From what I understand that applies to blood thinners and cholestorol meds. I just got it yesterday. I was happy to see none of the gelcaps had melted together, with temps in the 90’s I was a bit worried. If it sits in the mailbox in the sun, that might be a problem, but not of the manufacturer. These are not melted, no leakage, bottle was sealed very well it's fresh. The gelcaps are colored with carob, a natural substance used for chocolate flavor in some products, but I didn’t taste anything. The dark color probably protects the krill oil in a natural way. Well thought out IMHO. Time will tell if there are great health advantages, but from the OTHER ads it “may reduce fatty liver, and improve heart and cardiovascular health”. These are much easier to swallow than the large fish oil caps. The dose isn’t insanely high, and I say it’s worth a try since my cholesterol has been creeping up to the high end of healthy. I actually look forward to my bloodwork, turning 65 in Sep. (ha, I never thought I’d say THAT!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Purchase
No after taste. good price, on a quality product.
4.0 out of 5 stars hard to review something like this because of the ambiguity of cause and effect
I think the benefits of krill oil are long-term -- good for your heart and reduced inflammation. I've read that some people take this for greater mental acuity but I haven't noticed any of that. Anyway.... these gave me mild indigestion for the first few days, which I suppose was my digestive system getting used to the oils. After that, I don't notice anything, and if the true benefits are to things like heart health, the benefits I get might be ones I DON'T see -- a heart attack. The pills themselves are somewhat large, but I think there's no getting around this -- if you want to take a given volume of oil, and do it in pill form, then you're going to have to take some decently sized pills. It's not the pills' fault. Me, I take pills with solids, like banana, and have no problem taking large pills even several at a time. So the size of these pills was no problem. On the plus side, I've noticed no odor, even when I burp. So that's a plus. My conclusions are therefore that there are no negatives and the positives are understandably difficult to quantify. I didn't take these and think "Wow, I suddenly feel much different and better!" But that wasn't my expectation.
5.0 out of 5 stars Can't be returned if arrive all stuck to together and unusuable.
Antarctic is an excellent Krill oil. However; my last shipment arrived with softgels all stuck together making them un-usable. As this product is not returnable to Bolo, I have lost over $23 I cannot afford to loose.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good value , no fish smell
Been taking this krill oil for a year . My joints are much more comfortable now . No fish after taste. Easy to swallow and good value!
5.0 out of 5 stars I've tried a number of them, this wins in all but one measure
Here are my measures and how this one compares...* Price: at the time of purchase, the cheapest. However prices vary. You need to figure how much each capsule contains and how many per bottle to compare price.* Size/ swallow-ability: the size seems pretty standard, except for the hard capsules of one brand I used to get. These are small and go down easily* Taste: this stuff is known for its fishy smell/taste, that is only mitigated by how its encased. All the less costly use this same method, which allows some fishy smell but going down and later I never notice an after taste or fishy burp. The hard capsules (high priced brand) have the least smell.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very easy to swallow
Thankfully, these are not as big as fish oil and flax oil or many of the larger supplements I have taken over the years. I was somewhat dreading ordering them as I didn't see the word "mini" or was able to really tell the size until they got here. They are like "mini fish oil" gel caps. Since you swallow them, I don't know why I was asked about flavor. I had read some good things about Krill oil so I wanted to try them. Haven't been on them long but I am sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. I will order these again and am switching from the gigantic other "oils" that I have been taking.
