5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight and Cool

    N. · September 6, 2024

This is my second KASK Valergo cycling helmet, and it has made a noticeable difference in my riding experience. This helmet is an absolute game-changer, especially for those long, hot rides.First off, the ventilation on this helmet is exceptional. On sweltering days, the numerous air vents provide incredible airflow, keeping my head cool and sweat-free. This is a major plus for me, as I’ve often struggled with overheating in the past. The helmet is incredibly lightweight, and it feels like it’s barely there, yet it doesn’t compromise on protection. The comfort level is top-tier, with a secure fit that feels both snug and adjustable. The retention system is easy to customize, ensuring a perfect fit every time.In summary, the KASK Valegro cycling helmet has exceeded my expectations in terms of ventilation, weight, and comfort. It’s a fantastic investment for anyone looking to stay cool and comfortable during those intense summer rides. Highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars suitable replacement for my Octal

    P.M. · April 22, 2022

I’ve been using a POC Octal for years but I crashed and dented it so I needed a new helmet. Unfortunately POC discontinued that model and I’ve been struggling to find a suitable replacement. After trying several helmets I settled on this one. I don’t quite like how it looks on me as well as the Octal but it’s fairly low-profile and no mushroom head. At 236 grams it’s 10 grams lighter than my Octal although it’s not quite as comfortable. I think you sacrifice a little comfort for it being so lightweight. That being said, I barely even notice that I’m wearing it and it stays in place on my head so I don’t have to constantly tighten or adjust it like I had to do with my Octal. Aside from the extreme lightweight, the biggest positive is the air flow. This is the perfect hot weather helmet which is what I need for SW Florida. I took the little front pad out for maximum air flow (as suggested). I know the fake leather chin strap is a selling point for a lot of people but I’m not a fan. I think a thin, soft nylon strap is more comfortable. I used to wear a Kask Mojito which has the same chin strap and it wore out over time and on hot sweaty days bits of it flake off and stick to my skin. The finish of the Valegro could be a little nicer for $266 but I kept it because it fits, it looks good, it’s VERY lightweight and it’s well ventilated. My head is 57 ½ cm and I got a large. There’s plenty of room to spare and I can wear a cycling cap or a thermal beanie in cold weather and it doesn’t look too large. If the helmet cost around $200 I’d be tempted to go 5 stars but at $266 it’s four.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light and great fit

This model of Kask helmet has been improved tremendously from the first model. The padding is all new bringing increased confort and fit as well as being the lightest Kask helmet.

5.0 out of 5 stars One feature the chin strap buckle mechanism is much better compared to other brands.

    L.T. · September 21, 2020

I have now used the Kask helmet for about 3 months or 15 bike rides and it has two advantages that make it stand out. I compared this Kask Valegro helmet to a 4-year-old Giro Synthe road helmet that has the same light and airy feel but the fit and chin strap are not comparable. The Kask Valegro (Medium) has skull support on the backside of the helmet which makes it really easy to give you a great fit with a bike cap on. But the best thing about the Kask helmet is the easy to use chin strap buckle which makes it oodles better than many competitors. If you were gloves, it can be difficult to get the chin strap off but this design is easy to use and works without being overly complicated. Also, I learned from other roadies, it is super easy to reverse your sunglasses in the helmet on uphills and they stay secure in the helmet frame. However, I neither had to test either of the helmets in a crash and can only evaluate the helmets as a riding safety tool. This is an honest review and I give kudos when the product deserves it.

    2.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight but…

    M.H. · September 17, 2023

The helmet is very lightweight but the inability to adjust the chin strap makes it uncomfortable for me. There is also a section of leather that runs under the chin and it’s gross and weird.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not comfortable.

Good weight and well ventilated, but too many uncomfortable pressure spots, especially on the forehead.
