Make it work fine in windows with thunderbolt , but had to invest in used units RocketStor 6628T and RocketStor 6628A, just replace the card ,you will loose the raid box interface , you will get this card interface only, works fine with hp mobile workstation with tb 4 also with hp mobile workstation with tb 3 and last work with hp mobile workstation with tb 2 but you will need apple adapter tb 3 to tb 2

Purchased this specifically for VMWare Hosts. Waited about a year before testing it and the card does not work at all!!HPT support will not honor any return requests and will not be working on driver support.

It's cheap and works with macOS. However, watch out for low-quality drivers. I purchased one of these directly, and over time, they lost interest in keeping the driver up to date for macOS. I reached out to support, and they said that after 2 years, they will not even respond to support requests for the software. I'm getting frequent kernel panics now in macOS 15.1.x so be warned. I'll be looking at ATTO gear going forward.

The OWC Thunderbay 8 Flex enclosure comes with a PCI 3.0 slot for expansions, and it allows for replacing the pre-installed SATA card with a RAID card, but they don't make any recommendations on compatible cards to convert the enclosure to a hardware RAID unit since they're trying to encourage using SoftRAID. I needed a hardware solution for a RAID array, and this card plugged in and worked without any extra cables/adapters needed, and it's been smooth sailing so far. I've only connected 2 drives, but it can accommodate 8. Really impressed since similar RAID cards are double the price or more.
