5.0 out of 5 stars Emulsifies and Washes Off Beautifully
I use this as the first step in my cleansing process, and it feels lovely, kind of like a not-super-heavy cleansing oil. It's legitimatley fragrance free; I don't pick up on any scent at all, like not even a vaguely plastic one. But I think my favorite part about it is how it rinses off. To start, I work it onto my dry facial skin to loosen and begin removing my sunscreen and makeup. Once I've done that, I add water, and it emulsifies and thins into this milky liquid that rinses off easily, so my skin is left feeling both clean and hydrated. What really surprised me is that for being such a lovely, balmy texture, it's doesn't leave me at all greasy when I rinse it off, which is the unfortunate effect I get from a lot of cleansing oils if I don't follow them with a water-based cleanser. In a pinch, or to remove just sunscreen and daily grime, I'd use this as a single-step cleanser. Solid product. My one wish is that it had a hinged flip-top cap rather than a twist-off cap, but even so, I'd buy a mega tube of this stuff.
5.0 out of 5 stars Forever in my face routine
I use this every night to remove my waterproof mascara, long wear foundation, and it gets rid of the access dirt (construction) on skin without stripping it. My face gets dry quickly, and it always give it a smooth feeling and doesn’t dry it out. I make this a consistent purchase. I love Paula’s choice products. I have many of their products. I’ve tried a copious amount of expensive and moderate skin care items and her systems are the best:
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!
I have not used a Paula’s Choice product previously - so this is not a brand review - it’s only a product review. I wanted to try this product out and purchased it on Prime Day because honestly it would have been less expensive if I didn’t like it. I should state that I have extremely dry skin so I am reporting how that worked for me. I have previously tried other cleansing balms and micellar waters and been disappointed because I never felt as though they took off the make up. I put a little more than a pea size amount on my finger and began massaging my face and I could see that my makeup was coming off. I use a primer with my waterproof mascara and it melted the products I use off my face. It’s also important to note that I use sunscreen on my face and wear full coverage make up. A little goes a long way with this product. You don’t need a lot. I felt that my skin was prepped for cleaning my face with my face wash after. Using this product as a step one, along with my other product, really cleansed my face. As far as residue left on ny face from the balm, I didn’t notice anything because I thoroughly patted ny face dry and then washed it with another product (First Aide Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser). Between the two, ny face was clean, glowing, and hydrated. I recommend this Paula’s Choice product. I feel like for the cost and the results, this is a great product that you can use everyday and will only need to replenish one other time in a year. Hope this review helps! Cheers for taking care of your skin. ❤️
4.0 out of 5 stars gentle but doesn’t fully remove make up
won’t purchase again because it doesn’t fully remove make up even after two washes, but very gentle and hydrating for skin so it’s great for no make up days if you’re looking for that.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love!
Really like this product as an oil based cleanser. Not too heavy and my combination skin seems to deal well with it. Smells and has the consistency of hardened coconut oil.
5.0 out of 5 stars This product is amazing!
It really helps in washing all of the makeup gunk away. I have seen reviews that state this product is overpriced seeing as though the bottle is so small. You only need a little more than a pea size amount. You don't need to apply it as you would a normal facewash. I was concerned as well but decided to follow the instructions and it works as described.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fair skin dry sensitive effect on skin value for money quality drying smell texture
Love love love 47 fair skin dry Sensitive to ingredients —————————————-So if you’ve read my other reviews that are in the pic with all items I bought at same time I did a lot of research to learn my skin and my issues—-I’m 47 with dry sensitive skin (products sensitivity) not skin issue sensitive—there’s a difference—-a little redness around the nose and discoloration around my eyes—Paul's choice have really made me relax about getting older every single item I bought has not dried me out and my skin is slowly looking so much better!—-genius how they put certain ingredients together—-everything else falls short and I like pricey products—-GREAT PRICE GREAT PRODUCTSif they keep up the quality and price I’ll be a lifer :)SMELL—I do not smell anythingDRYING-not at all and if you follow your whole skincare routine it does not dry you out very soft and clean feelingTEXTURE-is luxuriousQUALITY-intentional smart ingredientsVALUE FOR MONEY-if it stays at these prices I think amazing specially when they go on saleEFFECT ON SKIN-clean soft fresh feeling
3.0 out of 5 stars Nice texture but not great at removing waterproof makeup
Did a patch test with too faced liquid lipstick using this, the inkey list, and cerave. This one came in third for being able to remove waterproof make up. Left a bunch of residue behind. Might be good as a gentle cleanser for dry sensitive skin but not as a cleansing balm in my opinion.
Does not remove makeup
Utterly useless, especially for the price. I purchased this as tube packaging is much more convenient for travel, and I have used Paula’s Choice products previously. This was a serious disappointment as the balm doesn’t remove makeup and that is kinda its purpose. I took this with me on a recent trip as my first cleanser in the two step routine, and OMG, what a struggle this was to remove all eye and face makeup daily. In saying that, as this was a holiday, I didn’t even have much makeup on to begin with. So this product has been a complete waste of money.
