EDIT #2: I wrote my previous edit a over a month ago, and I am once again upping my rating, this time to the full five stars.After using the first ball in my laundry closet for 60 days I replaced it, but just out of curiosity I placed the "expired" ball in a small drawer where I keep my dog's harness. I wanted to see how well it would work, and I was surprised to find that it continued masking odors for another month before I finally noticed the effect wearing off. So while A&H says to replace these every 2 months, it seems that you can safely bump it up to 3 and still get good results. That really increases the value of these things, and overall I'm just really impressed with this product. I would definitely say that these are on the same high level as other A&H products, and up to 9 months of odor elimination for $6 is a steal in my opinion. Definitely glad I stuck with these, and I can now highly recommend them.EDIT: I'm upping my rating from three stars to four. I still think that these could be stronger, and I generally expect more from A&H products. But I originally wrote this review a few weeks ago, and I've had one of these balls sitting inside of my laundry closet the entire time. It's a small closet, but it houses my dirty laundry hamper so it always smells pretty funky in there. To my surprise, I've noticed that the entirety of the closet now smells noticeably better and cleaner than it ever has before. One odor ball does a good job of masking the dirty/sweaty smells, not just near the hamper, but throughout the entire closet as well, even the very top. It doesn't neutralize the bad odors entirely or anything, but it is doing a better job than I initially gave it credit for, and I would much rather have these than not.ORIGINAL REVIEW: These do work, but I just wish they were better.Maybe my expectations were too high, since I'm a fan of A&H products. But I thought these would eliminate odor more than they actually do. They work best in really small/confined spaces (cabinets/gym bags/laundry hampers/etc) but even then, the odor elimination isn't as powerful as I hoped it would be. The bad odors still remain, though they are definitely subdued. These barely do anything in larger spaces though (closets/etc) which is very disappointing. I don't expect miracles but I did expect them to help a *little* in an extremely small apartment closet, which they don't. The balls themselves have a strong, chemical-y scent, which I personally like, but it definitely made me grimace when I first smelled it up close. But if anything, I guess I wish they were even stronger - maybe then they would do a better job of truly eliminating odors.I think these are still fine and worth the price (each ball is $2 and lasts for 2 months which is a pretty solid value) but don't expect to use them for anything larger than a duffel bag.

I got the arm & hammer deodorizer balls. I really like that. I can pretty much place them anywhere. I have one in the bathroom the closet and next to my dogs. It looks like a ball which is cute. It’s safe. It doesn’t leak. It’s not sticky or anything I just think maybe the smell goes away a little too fast so you have to it frequently I think the smell lasted about 5 to 7 days

These work great for my husbands shoes and sneakers. While the scent isn’t bad, it’s very strong and can be a little overwhelming for some. However, we personally don’t mind and very happy that it helps eliminate odors from the basketball sneakers and work shoes.

I have had a pair of Ariat steel toe work boots for about 7 months. They got wet and so did my feet. Since then, there is a smell which wafts from the boots from time to time and it’s embarrassing. I have tried everything I can think of to help it. Enter into the fray these sweet smelling shoe balls. (I giggled at shoe balls; it’s ok if you did too.)When you open them up, they smell really nice. Strong enough to make you think they’ll overpower whatever you’ve got going on. Well; they do. For five minutes. They mask the smell ok until you take them out of the boots. The smell just comes back. I compared these to a spray product and the spray product seemed to work better. At this point, I may just reassign these boots to the “work outside when I’m not around other people” kind and buy a new pair of boots.If you need these as a simple freshen up for your crocs they’ll probably be ok. If you have work boots that need some extra TLC; these aren’t it.

I would definitely recommend this product. I tried different ways to get rid of bad odour from my jacket. I tried washing it multiple times, drying in open air etc, nothing worked, but when I got this I put three unit in my jacket and tightly closed the bag for few days and finally no more bad odour. This really worked out!!!!

Been using it for more thaN two weeks now and it has been great!I would have to mention that the smell is a bit strong, not overwhelming, but you can definitely smell it. Some may take it as a downside. HOWEVER, I would take the baking soda smell anytime of the day over the smell of stinky feet. So yeah, this product does what it's claiming. 💯

Awful smell spoilt all my food
This terrible thing emits a strong smell that leached into all the food in my freezer and fridge destroying them and making them inedible. I had to throw away an entire fridge of food and am still having trouble removing the smell. Threw all the stupid balls away in the trash and felt compelled to warn others against this toxic product.
