I like this for firm butter fresh out of the fridge, works like a charm, for my arthritic hands the handle part could be a little larger it would be easier to maneuver. they could also do without the hole on the tip .

I thought it would work better, but it's definitely better than trying to use a regular knife. The price was good and it works, so I'll keep using it. I'm sure it would work much better if the butter wasn't straight out of the refrigerator.

This is a sturdy knife but it's no more useful than a regular butter knife. Butter doesn't curl through holes like it is supposed to. The straight, serrated edge does the same thing a normal butter knife does so I guess I'll stick with less expensive versions of regular butter knives. Thought I'd give it a try though. It just doesn't work the way is supposed to.

I dunno, the thing is cool. Have no idea what the holes in it are for, but it is a nice wide spreading surface. It is nice because it is hard to be able to buy single items anymore, you usually have to buy three knives at a time, which I don't need. It is nice to have a unique and dedicated spreading utensil.

Simply doesn't work
Absolute rubbish saw a tip on a tv show about grating butter from a fridge to make it spreadable, which actually works. I thought this would in the same way. All it does is lift the butter like any ordinary knife that's 1/5 of the price. Don't waste your time.
I'm probably using it wrong, but it still works great
I used to absolutely shred my toast whenever I buttered or jammed (or both'ed) it. This spreader makes it so much easier to apply a liberal amount of spread onto my toast quickly, meaning I'm less likely to rip a hole in it. I still don't know how to use it effectively (what's the point of the circles along the edge? Should come with a tiny instruction card lol), but just the fact that its a larger flat surface already makes it easier to butter my toast. Clean up is a little bit of a pain since, because it's just butter and it's a larger surface, hot water isn't enough. Just add a drop of dishwashing liquid (or use a dishwasher) and it's no problem though.
Thought it was a gimmick, but it’s great…
Honestly, I bought this thinking it’d be one of those gimmicky kitchen gadgets, but it’s actually been so handy! The little holes make spreading cold butter so much easier, and it’s great for things like cold peanut butter too. Only downside is it’s a bit fiddly to clean by hand, so I just chuck it in the dishwasher, and it comes out spotless every time.
Works as advertised, not as useful as I thought it'd be
I've used this on margarine, butter and 'spreadable' butter. This works as advertised and makes the individual strings.It makes it slightly easier to spread because of that, but not as much as I expected.I use it every time though so for a price that's only slightly more than a normal butter knife, its a decent purchase.

I really don't know why I bought this, but it does make spreading butter a bit easier.
