I do a lot of laser cutting/engraving and these are by far the best pieces of balsa wood I have bought. They were packaged extremely well. Once of the worst things is getting warped wood. These arrived tightly wrapped in black plastic and 100% covered in tape. Additionally, on the inside of the package there are 2 rubber bands holding the pieces together after opening. These pieces have not warped in the slightest since opening. Will keep purchasing from this company!

I have read hundreds of reviews and finally settled on this one and I’m glad I did. I’m using this wood to cut with my Xtool D1 10 W diode laser and it cuts perfectly! (power 100%, speed 4, 1 pass) It arrived very quickly and very well packaged. No damage or warping of the wood. Will definitely be purchasing much more!

Like others mentioned, it is not a solid piece of wood but rather a thin plywood of 3 sheets. Cuts more like basswood than balsa.

I have found it hard to find BALSA wood, the light and flexible wood necessary for many of my projects. So if those are two very important criteria for you, I highly recommend this item.

This is NOT Balsa wood. It seems to be some type of sandwiched composite - maybe there is balsa wood on the inside. I bought for my students' model rocket projects in a rush because we needed more. It was hard to cut, the top and bottom layer whatever it was did not cut smoothly. If you look at the third picture from the seller they show the sandwiched composite clearly in the image...When I reread the description, it mentions both Balsa and basswood. I might use it for practice, but it is not good for rocket fins for first timers. While stronger than regular balsa, it is too hard to cut cleanly and sand for my high school students..

Good stuff, but not balsa. Probably basswood. The description uses both words, which is confusing. I’m here to tell you: NOT BALSA!I might keep it anyway, since it’s good stuff, but not what I was expecting.
