This is best I've owned! It has tightness adjustment and comes with Allen head wrench for adjustment. This also has a locking lever so you can take your imprint and lock the imprint in place. The comb is beveled which makes working with the imprint easier. This is plastic comb material of the proper stiffness but will not easily break. Very well built and good features. I'm coming over to this style gauge from a metal pin comb which walked away as a loaned tool, thank you for not returning as I like my new tool!

I used this to install peel and stick backsplash above a counter at the church fellowship hall. It was a timesaver and kept me from wasting the sheets of backsplash. My 3 y/o granddaughter also thinks it’s a very neat toy lol. Seems sturdy as it has been dropped several times and still seems in good shape.

There are no instruction but there are pics on the box in addition to you should be able to figure out what 2 screws do. That said I only did a small, uncomplicated test and it worked perfectly to transfer a cut. The fit was spot on and I’m excited to use this with more things.Anyone confused, you loosen the screws as needed for the amount of resistance you need to measure. Once you have measured, pull the lock switch out on the other side to lock the marking. You then trace that onto what you’re cutting. It’s very simple. There is also the example in the product photos here. I can’t stress how simple it is.Simply disengage the lock and butt all the pins against the edge of the gauge to set it to zero.

These things are laughably overrated. You see them everywhere and the claims they make are fantastic! But tragically these things are kind of a joke. It’s not that they are poorly made or anything like that is just not a real tool ya know. Imagine that you were helping your friend install new flooring and he brings a new level and jigsaw and then you pull this out of your tool box and it looks like you brought a box of legos. Not good!Be the guy that brings the jigsaw!
