5.0 out of 5 stars I like it more everytime I cook with it!

    R.C. · October 24, 2022

I've been using a cheaper, non-stick type wok with a flat bottom. This Kitchen Aid 15 inch wok is MUCH better! The 5 layer construction with the aluminum core is deceptively heavy and heats evenly all the way up the sides. The wok is beautiful to look at...the outside looks like a mirror. When I first got it, after washing, I heated it slowly and applied some cooking oil with a paper towel, letting cool slowly. First time I used it, I made fried rice and had some issues with the egg getting cooked onto the surface. It cleaned up but I had to use soap & water to get it cleaned. I continued warming the wok and lightly oiling it after each use. Each time I've used it (and re-seasoned it), it seems to have less problems with sticking and the cleanup is easier. Last use, I made a sticky beef recipe. I was able to clean it this time with just spraying it with hot tap water, wiping it dry with at towel and heating/re-oiling the pan. I also bought a "Lodge" brand 15" glass lid and it works perfectly on the wok! The price is about equal to a high end, carbon steel wok but without all of the hassles and seasoning issues. I can't say enough good things about it! Hard to beat Kitchen-Aid products. Would highly recommend to anyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Wok

    J.W. · June 15, 2023

I make stir-fry style meals several times a week, but I'd never tried a wok before. I spent a few hours over the course of a couple weeks researching and concluded that this is the one I would try. I've been delighted with it, more so than I could have expected. It heats evenly, cleans up well, and is HUGE! I used to struggle keeping food inside my skillet while cooking, but this is so big I can stir and toss as I please. Great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars My new All in one Pan. NO Nonstick items on the surface

    M.D.K. · June 23, 2024

I got this, since I've gone through several different versions of Non-stick over the years. Ceramic, Black interior non-stick and now the Hexagon. Enough. I wanted a high sided stainless steel pan or carbon pan that I could use as a all/everything pan. I feel this is the perfect pan. I need to re-work and learn to find tips and tricks working with this. I know to pre-heat the pan, till I get the bead of water to roll across the surface. Fun to watch in this pan. This is also induction friendly. No buzzing. To work with this pan,I also got this lid, which I really like."Walfos Universal Lid for Pots, Pans and Skillets - Tempered Glass with Heat Resistant Silicone Rim, Fits 13", 14" and 15". fits perfect." Allows me to see inside the pan. I can steam cook at low temp. For a spatula, this works well with the curve of the pan:Wok Spatula Stainless Steel, Wide Metal Spatula with Hollow Long Handle Wok Utensils,Silver/14.7Inch.I still have cast-iron, but I prefer Stainless for chicken, sauteing. The cast iron for me is other slow cook methods. I have a high sided Carbon Steel, use to sear steaks prepped while doing Suave.I can strongly recommend this pan. Look at You Tube cooking channels that show you how to cook with Stainless Steel. I want to stop throwing away pans. I remember my grandmother had cast-iron, that was in the family for years. People thought at the time those new fangled Non-stick were great. Boy were we wrong. DuPont, shame on you. Other companies pushing these non-stick what a waste to the environment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive WOK

    P.F. · December 18, 2023

I was very pleased with this purchase. To avoid sticking, I recommend heating the Wok to hot on high heat then turn to medium heat before adding oil (olive oil or avocado oil works best). The oil should be heated (medium heat) until there is a small amount of smoke before cooking or stir-frying. If you follow above steps most food won't stick. Also it's easy to clean and heats evenly. Nice!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Stainless

I made my bean burrito mix for the first test after washing. It's onions cooked for a good while, followed by something like Rotel, or just diced tomatoes. Then add the refried beans and seasonings. Pretty basic, it's the ingredients that are the test. I had no sticking with that, but I know to cook on lower heat in stainless, however, I have other stainless that is heavy and multi-ply and will burn nearly everything to it. After all these years, I've learned that weight is probably the biggest factor for cooking with a certain type of pot/pan for most people given common cooking heat sources. Shape: The pan almost has a non-flat internal bottom. If you want to stir fry, that is the (for most people) only kind you can have. I got the pan for many uses - I'm sure it makes a great large stainless mixing bowl as well. The handles make it easy to pour from, leverage wise. I can abuse it and not worry, and I'm prone to abuse my woks, I've had all kinds.Verdict: After my one use, take that with a grain of salt, I think it is a great pan. Canned refried beans is a terrible thing for most people to cook in a stainless pan, and it went through easily. If it doesn't for you, you can soak it forever because it's stainless. It's a lazy person wok, but a good one.As usual, if mine breaks down, I will report, but I expect no issues with this wok. I'm actually impressed up front for once with what I received.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful everyday use wok!

    B.S. · September 6, 2022

I really love this wok. It's large, very well made, and seems to be of a very high-quality stainless steel. That said, a traditional carbon steel round bottom wok is still (imho) the superior choice for high heat cooking for a select number of dishes. However, as a daily driver for 99% of home cooks, this Kitchen Aid stainless steel wok is probably the best choice. Cleanup is a breeze, and I don't have to worry about the smoke and odors during (re)seasoning of carbon steel. If this was offered in a round bottom, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat, but it's almost perfect just as it is.

    Great wok!

    Excellent Wok for Stir Frying

    T. · March 20, 2022

KitchenAid makes some of the best kitchen appliances in the world - mixers, grinders, and the lot. Who knew that KitchenAid would make one of the best woks on the market? Without doubt this is one of the best woks I have used and I have used several from all over the world, including authentic ones from some Asian countries. But this KitchenAid wok, in my experience beats the rest for quality, build, weight, handling and cooking experience. And it may not seem like much, but the actual curvature of the wok is so perfect when cooking that it takes very little effort to stir fry, make fried rice or may other dishes.Only suggestion, if I may, is have some experience with burner control before using this excellent wok, as the heat is being transferred to the ingredients in a fast cook process, medium to high heat. Not a slow cooking process on low heat. One thing that would make this wok even better is if it came in a set of one or two smaller sizes, along with this large one.The wok I received was made in Thailand. First product from Thailand KitchenAid and extremely happy with quality, finish, weight and handling.Strongly recommend purchasing through Bolo, if not buying directly from KitchenAid. Bolo without doubt is the best online buying experience, for peace of mind and excellent customer service, if there are any issues with your orders.

Nice size, very practical, easy to clean, good quality. At least I feel safe knowing that there is no Teflon/PTFE to poison me while I cook my steaks on high heat!
