5.0 out of 5 stars Long wear gentle on lips, compatible with Mac lipglass
I am really hooked on this lipstick! It's very long wearing and it's super gentle on my lips. I've tried long wear lipstick in the past and found that it dried my lips out too much and irritated them, like it sucked the moisture out of my lips. This doesn't do that at all! They feel very comfortable underneath, no itching, and don't feel dry when I take it off at the end of the day. It has a really pretty matte sheen, and I like the scent, kind of vanilla.Let me address some common complaints among other reviewers and why I think they're wrong. First off, it is really easy to take off if you know what you're doing. Oil takes this stuff off quite easily, so do some makeup wipes. Most lip balms will take it off as well. For example, I use laneige lip balm at night and it takes it off just fine. Put some on, rub your lips together, and then wipe off with a tissue. Neutrogena makeup wipes also take it off.Secondly, I do agree that this product is very sticky. I have found that I can put my Mac lipglass on over top and now it's not sticky anymore! Also the gloss gives it a nice sheen or glitter depending on what shade of gloss. And most importantly, Mac lipglass does not take it off, yay!Third, because oil takes it off, depending on what you had to eat, it will or won't survive your meal. So some people say they had really good luck with it lasting all day, and other people complaining that it's worn off after a few hours. I think it really depends on what you had to eat that day. If I have something light and non-greasy for lunch like sushi then my lipstick lasts the entire work day without needing a touch-up. If I have a lunch that's heavy on oil, like salad dressing or a lot of butter, then I have to reapply after I finish eating. But one touch up in the middle of the day to freshen up the center of your lips is no big deal! That still wayyyyy beats any kind of conventional lipstick.Fourth, your lips need to be totally clean and oil free before you apply. And this stuff takes about a minute to set. So if you're putting it on, say, on top of lip balm, it isn't going to be long wear lipstick. Likewise, let it set well before you go off for the day. If I get lipstick on my teeth, it's usually during this period where it hasn't set yet. If that happens, I just wait until it is set, and then wipe it off my teeth with a Kleenex. Not a big deal at all!Now on to the colors... I am extremely fair skinned (usually the lightest color in any foundation brand), blue eyes, cool undertone, and brown/ reddish hair. On me, I really like the way dreamer and lover look. Very flattering and works well if you have cool undertones in your skin. I like poet, but it's almost a little too orange/ coral for my skin tone. I agree with other reviewers that seductress doesn't look at all like the photos online. That shade is way more brown in person. Like a '90s brown... I'll probably wear it some, but definitely not the most flattering for cool toned skin. I definitely plan on buying another color or two. At this price point, it's pretty easy to experiment. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

I’m not saying it’s magical, but I’m starting to believe it might be.She wears it through high-energy routines, eats her weight in snacks, and still looks flawless—like, if I didn’t know better, I’d think it was permanently inked on. These are my absolute favorite lipsticks of all time. They stay on all day, last through meals, stay on all night when I go to bed forgetting to take it off, and they’re super affordable. (Dare I say these may last longer than the Stila liquid lipsticks, which I also love.) I got kind of obsessed with finding the right shade for my wedding day someday that I bought 10 in one summer. Not my proudest moment, but I’ve really enjoyed them. No regrets, even though I don’t love every color.My absolute favorites are Seductress, Revolutionary, Inspirer and Voyager.My least favorites are the fair skin colored ones, like Loyalist and Poet. They’re too close to my skin color which looked gross on me in bathroom lighting. Out of the two I’m more likely to wear Poet. Dreamer is like a Pepto Bismol color. Founder is like a pinkish red, like the color of my shirt. Pathfinder was a lighter, pinker red and hard for me to match. Seductress is AMAZING, especially on redheads. An awesome casual color.I’ve added pictures of every color I bought along with including their names in the photos. Each photo is taken either in front of a window or outside in order to use natural lighting to get an accurate shot of their true color. I’m hoping they’re helpful to you all.I will say these lipsticks are super sticky, even after they dry. Licking them does not fix the sticky feeling. However, applying a super thin coat of chapstick by dabbing (not rubbing) the chapstick on the lower lip then pressing your lips together works perfectly! Just remember a little goes a LONG way, because if you add too much, the lipstick will start to come off. Maybelline’s Super Stay 24 Color lipsticks are very similar AND they each contain a chapstick on the opposite end of the lipstick. I left a review with pictures there because OBSESSED.If I were to pick one of these colors for my wedding day next year, it would probably be Revolutionary.To take them off without makeup wipes, apply a heavy layer of chapstick overtop and rub off with a tissue a few times.
