I have a whole box of these things and they never disappoint. This drive offers an impressive amount of storage in a compact and rugged design, making it perfect for on-the-go use. Fast read and write times that significantly reduce file transfer durations. The build quality is excellent; it feels solid and durable, with a water- and dust-resistant design that provides peace of mind during travel. The compact size makes it easy to slip into a bag without taking up much space. Great product - will buy more!

Bought one of these because my 256GB Mac ran out of space quickly. Easy install, pleasure to use super small. wish they built a custom sleeve to stick on to the Mac. But all that said - very nice product

This has done exactly what I had hoped it would do -- provide high speed external storage for my laptop which can't be expanded beyond the SSD capacity it already has.I'm a musician with some very large sound libraries which I have moved to this SanDisk 4TB external drive. When working with sound libraries there is a huge data flow that has to be extremely fast and this drive does the job excellently!I have some different brand external SSDs of smaller capacity which for some reason my Windows11 laptop loses contact with (even though they're plugged in and stationary) and they're constantly re-connecting which makes them unusable for musical work. But not this unit -- it remains solidly connected to my laptop which makes it excellent for my needs. Video transfers are extremely fast as is any audio transfer (mp3 or wav files).It's an extremely valuable add-on for me and will be a welcome addition to anybody working with music and I suspect also working with video, although since I don't work with video I can't speak from experience. But the extremely fast data transfer makes me think it will be great for video, too.I do have videos stored on this external drive and watching the video is no problem, no delays, no interruptions.

Looking for a backup device for photos files that is easy to travel with and is durable. This fits the requirements. I purchased the 1TB version. I use it to backup photos from my Canon R5 flash card files until i can store them on the servers when I return home. The storage unit work with USB-C and comes with a adapter for USB-A. The transfer rates are fast. The unit seems well built and very durable which is a must for traveling.

I bought this external drive specifically for gaming because my regular SSD is too small, I don't have space in my case for an additional one, and I can't be bothered to deal with a whole operating system reinstall to replace my internal SSD when I really just want a drive to play games from.Enter this SSD.I've had it for months now and I've played various modern games from Baldur's Gate 3 to Overwatch 2 to Veilguard on it with no lag or crashes, and the load times are noticeably faster than when I was playing from my internal SSD. Funnily, due to the USB support, it actually is legitimately faster than if I were using my internal, which was an eye-opening realisation.I just leave the drive connected 24/7, even on the rare occasions I bother rebooting, because frankly I'm lazy, and I've had zero trouble with it. Nothing special was required; I plugged it in, my system detected it immediately, and I was good to go. Occasionally it'll get a bit hot to the touch after extended play, but it cools down again quickly and I've noticed no performance issues whatsoever. It shows up fine in my SMART tools and it's green across the board. Well, blue, but you get the idea.Fantastic drive. I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner.

Love how fast it uploads media. However, the usb-c cord is so flimsy and the tip got bent a few weeks after getting it. Now it disconnects from my laptop frequently when slightly touched or moved. I was pretty disappointed with that so I gave a 4 star instead of an otherwise 5 star product like this harddrive

The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD (2TB) for a few days now, and it’s impressive! The transfer speeds are as advertised, with up to 1050MB/s read and 1000MB/s write, making it perfect for quickly backing up large files or editing directly from the drive. The compact and durable design is a huge plus—it’s water-resistant and fits easily into my pocket, making it ideal for travel or on-the-go use.One minor downside is that the included USB cable could be longer, but that’s easy to fix with an extender. Overall, this SSD has exceeded my expectations and is well worth the investment for anyone looking for portable, high-speed storage!
