Bought them because it’s what got me through my first two kids. They work well, I would say it’s more time consuming than the disposable, just because you have to freeze & wash with every use. But they’re nice to have on hand when you run out of those. They were comfortable, easy to use, and fit well.

I was seeking an alternative to instant perineal ice pads for postpartum use. Recovery for baby 1 was made bearable only thanks to those nifty ice pads. However they quickly become costly as they are one time use and go fast! I found that DIY "padcicles" while very useful and great for healing just didn't provide the same cold therapy relief I was seeking. This time around I wanted something cost effective and found these!!Leonns comes with three gel bead ice packs shaped perfectly for postpartum use (I measured 11 inches in length and 3 inches width), three covers, and a carry bag. The packs have the right amount of beads to allow for flexibility without sacrificing optimal hot/cold use. To freeze/heat quickly and easily I make sure the beads are spread out evenly and the pack is flat.20 seconds in the microwave heated them decently. The description recommends an additional 5 seconds at a time until desired heat is reached. This will depend on the microwave you're using but 25 seconds worked best for ours. The heat lasted around 20 minutes before tapering off.Left in the freezer for 1 hour got the pack to a perfect cold temperature. It remains flexible and comfortable after freezing and lasted well over 20 minutes before tapering off. 2 hours was notably more frozen, still flexible and comfortable though! As a parent I can see these being very useful long term for our kiddos as well. I'm extremely happy with these and highly recommend them for anyone seeking reusable ice/hot pads for pregnancy/postpartum and otherwise. I'm excited not only for the fact these are perfect for pregnancy and postpartum use, but also that they can be used for a variety of other reasons, hot and cold therapy, making this a great long term & cost effective purchase.
4.0 out of 5 stars They work great
These work great for all sorts of uses, including postpartum. I had a c-section and put one on my scar to help with itching and discomfort - the bag/cover that comes with them is handy so you don’t have to use a bulky towel. I also used one on my neck and shoulder when they got sore from picking baby up, nursing, pumping, etc. They are easy to use and I usually get about 15 minutes of cold from one which is ideal.
5.0 out of 5 stars Generously sized
I had a procedure that required ice afterwards. I like the fact that with these you can be re-freezing a couple while you are using one. They both freeze and defrost quite quickly. Good coverage though. And pretty colour and nice silk packs they came in. I washed the packs in cold water before using and the colour loss was not too bad. Recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Relief!
I ordered these to get some relief from my LS and they worked great. They were very comfortable and easy to use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Used after surgery
I recently had 2 surgeries back to back and these have been great for my stomach. They do thaw quickly but they freeze quickly also so having three is perfect to alternate.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for surgical recovery
Ordered these in anticipation of hemorrhoid surgery and so far these have been very helpful. Nice soft covers and flexible ice packs— not too hard/firm so they are comfortable for delicate places. Very glad I purchased them and would definitely recommend for anyone going through a similar surgery.
5.0 out of 5 stars They don’t say “perineal” on the actual item
I ordered these to have on hand after delivering my baby, but I realized that they will be great to keep in the freezer for all of the inevitable bumps and scrapes that are a part of childhood that are cured by an ice pack. I like that these don’t say anything on them about being “perineal ice packs” and I like the washable black fabric covers. They fold in half easily when you don’t want the long skinny rectangle shape.
