I used the women's version of this pack (the Tempest 20) for years; it's still perfectly functional, but quite worn after lots of hiking and traveling. I picked up this one last summer before moving abroad, and I couldn't be happier with it! It serves as my everyday laptop bag, hiking pack, and personal item for travel. It's lightweight but super sturdy - aside from the logo wearing off, the pack is still in perfect condition after close to a year of daily use. It's spacious enough to work as my only bag for 3-5 day trips but still fits under any plane seat, and the harness system and back panel make it comfortable for long travel days and long hikes. I recently picked up the 33L version to tackle the Camino de Santiago this summer.

Pros: it is comfortable, light, is torso-adjustable, has a bladder sleeve, hip pockets, and a great stretchy outer pocket... much like the big Osprey packs. And at 22L, it has enough space for all the food, water, and weather gear you want to carry.

I used last year's version of this pack for extensive hiking and mountain climbing, including ascending 62 named peaks in Colorado in 2024. It is my favorite day pack I've ever owned due to excellence in ruggedness, keeping my back relatively cool as I hike, overall pocket design, etc. Only flaw is that it's hydration compartment is one inch in circumference too small to fit standard (or at least the four different brands I own) hydration bladders. You can jam them in with some extended effort but i broke one of my bladders this way and had to discard another due to leakage probably caused by this design flaw. Why the designers didn't check this, I'll never understand, unless their main customer focus is on non-hikers.

The BEST bag for hiking or daytrips!
We recently bought new Osprey Talon 22 hiking backpacks and we are extremely impressed. We had an older version and after 12 years and 34 countries it was finally wearing out! These are extremely comfortable and the adjustable shoulder straps, sternum strap, and hip belt are great for adjusting the backpack to any body type. It has plenty of storage pockets to keep things organized and easily accessible. The overall quality is unmatched, I'm confident these newer versions will last just as many years as the last one and all the adventures that come with them.I would highly recommend this backpack for anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable hiking companion!
