Thought this was just marzipan and plum - they contain alcohol. Individually wrapped, beautiful, absolutely delicious chocolates. Cost per chocolate approx. $2.50, 27.5gm/.97oz, 2" wide, just over 3/8" thick, 8 rounddisks, well worth the price of $19.99/box.Edited 2nd order: The chocolates are stale, and not as fresh as previous orders, covered in bloom, along with 1 box of each of the other flavors, apricot and cherry, which were inedible, being very stale and covered in thick white bloom." 3rd order: Received 2 boxes today, April 13, 2024, and they're fresh and delicious, again." 4th order: Received 2 more orders for gifts, April 20th, 2024, and they are fresh and perfect, as expected.
What is there not to like!
Crisp chocolate, moist marzipan and the warmth of Madeira - lush. Star off as this is expensive, combined with small number you get. Very nice as a Christmas treat though.
These Are Impossible To Resist!
Chocolate-covered plum in Madeira with marzipan: unbeatable and totally delicious! All of Anthon Berg's chocolates are high quality and reasonably priced.
Expired chocolates
These are one of my favorite chocolates...when they are fresh. Unfortunately these arrived expired. The Madeira plum filling is completely dried up and not really detectable. The chocolate coating has a white cast on it, as you would typically get with old chocolate. It's unacceptable to sell expired food products that are not returnable.
Delicious and so Fresh product
Have been looking for this product for ages in my town. So happy to have found it on Bolo. This product is delicious and always arrives fresh and well packaged. I keep buying it for friends and family. I highly recommend you buy some when it is still available. You will not be disappointed.
