The ulanzi VL 49 video LED light is a must for any reviewer, creator or camera enthusiast.It provides numerous options during the backlighting process. It is extremely portable and light, providing a full range of color schemes and levels of brightness. All at the touch of a button. The LCD screen. Allows you to adjust the hue temperature level and color with accuracy and ease. With its battery capacity of 2000 mAh and working time which allows ample time to create any project. It has a type C charging port quarter inch screw and allows up to three units to be attached through the cold shoe mounts. It has level of brightness color temperature adjusted by percentage. The back is also magnetic to attach to any metal surface. This is a light that I travel with.

I am President of a photography club at my school and we used these and they work great! Easy control over the colors, a variety of brightness levels and very simple to use. The brightness goes very high and helped a ton with lighting portraits with many different colors. I would recommend this to others, it may be a small light but it packs a punch!

I bought this to use as a secondary, continuous light source for low-light photography, and coming from that direction, this has worked just about perfectly. In low-light, the VL-49 is extremely bright (Or not, if you don't want it to be), and the different color options make it extremely versatile. Since I'm usually focused on photography, not having to carry a flashlight in my hands is also an added advantage. When I'm not using it, it doesn't take up much room in my camera bag, and I've honestly considered getting a second one, and 2 small tripods to set them up on for when I'm also using my camera's flash, or when I just want light from more angles. For the price, I just might do that.

Great Value
For the size of these lights and the price, you get a lot. There is no app control (which for me is a plus), lots of colour options, easy to use menu, decent lighting effects, magnetic mounting options, decent battery life, and good brightness for its size. I find these more useful than the Godox TL30’s I picked up. For under $40 CAD, it’s hard to go wrong. Throw a few of these in your kit and you’ll find they come in handy for all sorts of things.

Simple But Powerfull!!
Upon first impression, the Ulanzi light comes in decent packaging with bubble wrap to protect the product. The black plastic build with a gray frame on the front and all four sides is of good quality. The bottom fitting unit is also good, but a 1/4" Screw Tripod Ball Head Bracket is needed to fit it on a tripod. The light is small and lightweight, making it easy to hold and use as a torch if needed. With 800 lux brightness, it is perfect for product photography and vlogging, and it has RGB color options with 13 light effects. The battery performance is not yet known, but it has an inbuilt 2000mAh battery with a USB C cable and a maximum output of 2 hours and low output of 10 hours.
