5.0 out of 5 stars A month in and no signs of leakage.
I used this kit to plug a hole caused by a GIANT nail near the edge of the tread on a Firestone Destination 2 A/T tire mounted on a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk that a repair shop said they couldn't help with (there wasn't enough room to add their internal flat patching material). They told me to take it to a "Ma and Pay" shop. I took it to my home shop instead, and hit up Bolo for the equipment! The included tools are EASY to use, and the instructions leave zero room for error. Happy to say that a month later, this repair is holding fast without any signs of leakage on over 1k miles of driving.
5.0 out of 5 stars Just as ordered
works great, stronger than the regular cheap set.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great except one thing
Everything is great in this kit except the insertion tool. The plug holder is a pretty thin piece of wire that can bend easily. It's good they included an extra. The reamer is beefy and works good. No issues with the plugs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Harder than advertised, but worked on the first try
The kit was effective, and I would buy it again; but it wasn't quite was was implied. As some Q&A questions have mentioned, this kit doesn't come with pliers (which the instructions imply it should have).I also found the kit to be somewhat difficult to use, but that's just because the initial leak in my tire was too small. It was a pin-prick leak, losing about 10psi / week. With this size of a leak, I could fit the probe in, let alone the patch. I ultimately used a drill to slightly enlarge the hole, and then used the probe to make enough room for the patch; and this required a lot more physical strength than I would have expected. But one the patch was in, it appears to have worked immediately. It's now been 5 days, and the tire doesn't seem to have lost any pressure. In patching the tire, I used one of the ten patches, so presumably I'm set for quite a while. But otherwise, I would happily buy this patch kit again.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well made. Looks like a quality repair kit.
This is a well build set of tire tools. They look like they will hold up well. I anticipate no problem using them on my Jeeps 33" tire if needed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Saved a bundle
Got a screw in the tire this past weekend. I took it to Costco to get it patched.Waited for 2 hours. They then refused, sighting that the tire is going bald.BTW, the other 3 tires are still in great shape. But I switched out the Spare to be used as regular, and was going to use that screwed tire as Spare. They wanted me to purchase a new set of tires about $1k. I reluctantly agreed. But then, they told me they cannot do it the same day, and that i have to make a reservation for a different day. After waited for 2 hours, no repair, and no I was flaming.....So I searched in Bolo, found this tire repair kit....it has just arrived about 1 hour ago.Super easy peasy. 15 mins of patch work, 10 mins of air pumping... My tire is back baby, and it is going straight to the spare tire rack. Save myself $1000.Swear I will never go back to Costco for tires. Pain in the neck.
5.0 out of 5 stars Plug kit
I had bought a similar kit to this one that both could get confused. This plug kit was far less money than my prior. I got a second one for my other vehicle ( BMW with run flats) in an effort if I get a flat I could extend the run flats maximum distance of 50 miles. If you keep air in run flats they will not deteriorate and you have better chances in finding a town that stocks run flats...but good luck on that.I've never plugged a run flat but I figure if a projectile punctures to the air cell so will the plug applicator tool and I can plug. I've used the Dollar General plugs in my Ford F150 3 times but wanted a better plug kit for a quicker repair.
Great kit
(function(){ P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function'){ A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })() It was a gift for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. Her friend wants one too now
arrived quickly
Works well. Added hockey tape to the grip handles to not slide as much. The lubricant jar leaked a bit. The product worked well to seal the hole.
it is as advertised
I have not used this yet, but it a great product for when on side x side trips. Gives you a little peace of mind that you can repair a flat if needed. I carry it in my truck when travelling for the same reason. it appears to be good quality.
Nice kit
Very complete and good quality
Good kit already sealed 3 punctures for people
The gloves are low quality and a waste of time but the reamer and installer works great the plugs seem to hold just fine
