5.0 out of 5 stars Great for $40
I saw some reviews that the keys didn't all work, mine has no issues like that, all keys work and make the appropriate notes. For this price, it's great for my purpose, which is to dip my toe in and see if a better keyboard is worth investing in. It's a perfect size for playing on the couch, the headphones work, I'm two days in and the battery is going strong, time will tell if the 6-8 hours of play is realistic. The voicings are terrible, which I expected. I've found one organ sound that is actually pretty good, the rest are pretty bad. The default piano sound is usable, but very poor quality. The keys are not weighted, but are textured plastic to feel like wood. They feel pretty good (though I have little experience in this). They're mini keys that are pretty tight for average sized adult hands, but again usable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, affordable, rechargeable teaching electric piano keyboard, connect to USB-USB C port
The media could not be loaded. My husband bought me a piano app that requires connection between the electric piano keyboard and the laptop. We actually own 2 older, pass-me-down electric piano keyboards and an upright piano, and for a long time could not figure out the connection issue, so the piano app was not in full use since we would skip the exercise sections that require a connected piano. This is because the app is able to detect the keys pressed on the piano upon connection to identify errors, and therefore would make testing our knowledge of the note learning better. So for a while, I searched for a connection wire for the older electric piano keyboards, but learned that the older versions do not support this type of connection. I found this piano keyboard, the only one within our price range that is also rechargeable, which is an awesome feature that is not found within other comparable keyboards. With that said, upon turning on, the keyboard would have a red light indicating that it's still charging, whereas it will turn off when fully charged. Coming from using 6-8 expensive D batteries for our older electric piano keyboards to become portable, I so appreciate this novel feature of having a rechargeable piano keyboard! I had only charged it once overnight since receiving this about a month ago, with on and off usage for my app lessons. The manual does explain that it can be charged every 2 months if not in use. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge, and can play up to 6-8 hours of continuous play after a full charge. What's more, the charging cable is a regular USB to type C USB cable, which I already own many of for my Android phone. This means we're no longer afraid to misplace or lose the charging cables, not to mention again saving so much money on those expensive replacement cables that are only specific to the piano. From getting frustrated whenever we lose the power cable for the order electric piano keyboards to now having such an accessible and rechargeable cable, I'm really on cloud nine with this piano!Another lucky find is that this piano comes with a microphone. When purchasing, I really didn't expect this surprise find from reading the product descriptions, as I don't remember having read anywhere that a microphone comes with it. It's located snugly and conveniently at the bottom of the keyboard in case you missed it.I love that this is genuinely a teaching piano keyboard. There is a function called teach: OKON (one key for one note)/Guide/Follow with a metronome and a beat count that you can set up to 1, 2, 3, and 4 counts, though I can't figure out yet the difference between the metronome and beat functions. Nevertheless, this is also a cool and unique feature that I have not seen before. I'm also learning via a piano app at this time, so I'm not using this teach function. But when trying it in teach mode, the correct key notes will appear on the LED screen. To be honest, at my stage of learning, I don't really understand what the notes say anyway. I'll probably revisit this teach function once I'm more familiar with reading the notes. It has 37 keys which is suitable for beginner or even intermediate piano lessons. Once we get to more advanced lessons, we're planning to upgrade to the 61 keys by this brand. But honestly, except for being 37 keys, it has so much more functions than I know what to do with, and with the teaching function available, I know it will take me a very very long time of practice on this keyboard before even thinking of upgrading to 61 keys. With that said, I'm so impressed with this small but mighty teaching electric piano keyboard, but it does take some time to familiar myself and make use of all the functions. I'm still learning new functions to date. Some tips:It's super lightweight compared to my older keyboards. The microphone goes into the MIC port. Tuck it back into the slot at the bottom of the keyboard for storage.Headsets or earphones (not included) can go into the PHONES port.It comes with an extra audio cord which can go into the AUX IN port for additional audio connection. There are no specific volume + / volume - buttons. To change the volume, click on VOLUME and then choose CHOICE - or +. I had to search the manual to learn this, after my husband complained why the piano is so loud, and I frantically could not find the typical volume + / volume - buttons. I think this is a very clever way to condense the buttons because the CHOICE - or + buttons can also be used for other functions such as TONE SWITCH, TEMPO, TRANSPOSE (to adjust the Major), and RHYTHM SWITCH functions. There are 50 demos, 200 tones and 200 rhythms, and I can see how fitting all these in a small, lightweight keyboard would not have been possible had it not been for the alternative.Apparently, when choosing from 200 rhythms, I can fill in a percussion of my choice, then record, and play back as background music. This is way too advanced for me at this time, but so cool!In place of the pedal on the string piano, I can use the SUSTAIN mode to extend to key sound, VIBRATION mode to add vibrating key sound, or ECHO mode to add the echo key sound. I'm not able to multitask that much yet, so I can't quite figure out how to efficiently do this.To sum it up, I cannot believe this rechargeable teaching electric piano keyboard was only around $50 after tax, whereas I remember paying 3-4 times as much for my older electric pianos. For those who have bought or signed up for an online or in-app piano lessons, I highly recommend buying this gem for your study. Trust me, the piano lessons, especially the practice games, are so much more enjoyable with it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful except 1 thing
I love this little keyboard for teaching my piano class for the very young. The Keys are so nice because they look like real mini wood block keys (not like a swimming pool diving board with nothing underneath), and have a nice quality texture to them. They are also the perfect size for tiny hands. There are an amazing number of sounds to choose from for such a tiny instrument, a good value for the price. Now, the one thing I hate about the keyboard - there is no volume slider, and no volume memory either. So every time you turn off the keyboard the volume resets to a very LOUD setting. It’s disturbing to me and to my little daughter. Of course, I can turn it down after turning it on, but it’s not something a tiny person would be able to easily figure out and it’s also just annoying to have to adjust and it still manages to surprise me every time.Second thing I’d love to see improved: just the simplicity of the button layout and user experience. For the tiny young people who will be most likely to use a keyboard like this, the buttons are quite complicated, and need an adult to make any changes to the settings (or even to turn on). It would be great if there was a very simple volume slider or knob, and a very simple and easy-for-children-to-recognize up/down arrow button to choose sounds. It would be even better to have a few of the most basic common sounds on their own individual buttons, with a little picture of the instrument for that sound next to the button (so that even a child who is unable to read can find that sound), and those buttons, when pressed, could skip to that instrument group in the instrument database. At the very least there should be one “piano” button in order to “reset” the sound selection back to piano sound. Those things aside, so far this is the little keyboard I have been most pleased with for my toddler teaching for both its realism and affordability. I hope they continue to improve the design so that it becomes even more usable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Many different sounds.
These little keyboards are really surprising with so many sounds. I use them for certain dedicated sounds. I use two of them in conjunction with a medium size keyboard and another regular full size keyboard. They are advertised for children and are wonderful instruments for them. But I use them semi pro for certain sounds that I use. They sure do have a great output in terms of volume. Light weight and great looks. The plastic case is probably easy to break so teach your children to take good care of these real instruments. They are advertised as toys but tell your children that they are real very good instruments that they can be proud to own and keep good care of for many years.
3.0 out of 5 stars Didn’t Last
This was a handy little keyboard to carry around, but it just stopped working. I’ve had it a couple years, but have not used it much at all. Disappointed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Small and practical
I purchased this keyboard to take with me to chorus rehearsals so I could work with my section on learning songs. It's the perfect size to carry around, very lightweight, and has far more features than I could ever use. I would find it too small for learning to play piano, but it's great for my purposes.
Beat maker machine!
This beat making keyboard machine works great! There is an instruction manual and youtube videos to assist. Great for music production!
Great Piano
This is basically everything you’ll ever need in a piano or keyboard. It has many instruments and even plays songs so you can fool your friends into thinking you are talented even if you can’t play. My only criticism is that there are no b# or e# keys. I’m not sure why they left those out.
Perfect
Bought for a 6 year old. Seems to be perfect for her to learn and explore with. She is enjoying it.
Works well
Everything works well, chargeable, light, easy to move around. The sounding is ok, but the mic doesn’t work very well.
Stops charging after a few weeks
The piano itself is good for beginners and has good sound. However, after a few weeks, it stops charging because the USB C wire has a loose fit. You have to keep unplugging it and plugging it back in to get it to charge. It also keeps defaulting to the loudest option, which is very loud when you turn it on. The last thing is that you to have to cycle through all the options to change the tone/choose a song/etc. It can be pain to change the various options.Overall, wouldn't recommend it. It's better to get a beginner piano which is bit more expensive but actually charges efficiently.
