A little darker and waxy-er than I thought, but very sturdy and durable. The pipe is nice and solid and I could tell it was hand made, has a nice contour. I got it very hot and it didn’t crack and held up well. Well worth the money, I don’t own any expensive pipes so I wouldn’t know what to compare it to. All the bits that come with work well. Great starter kit!!

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my pipe and waxed canvass roll. The roll is thick and is thoroughly waxed. There’s also a spot for a second pipe and as many accouterments as you need to enjoy your pipe.The pipe itself is a nice size and smokes well enough. The bowl is on the small side, which makes it nice for a quick smoke. The pipe itself is also beautiful to look at and nice to hold.I would highly recommend getting this set.

This is a great deal. As other reviewers have said, the color and sheen are different from what's pictured. The pipe has a dull matte finish and the roll is darker than the picture. Knowing that going into the deal, this is a fantastic set. I've smoked 3 bowls, so far, and have absolutely nothing to complain about. The tool is solid. I don't know that I'll utilize all the extras (filters and screens), but the stand is a cool add on and I like that it basically comes with everything you need to smoke, out of the box. No need to go buy cleaners. Everything you need is there and there's a place for everything to take it with you. Great set. I've already recommended it to a friend.

This is a wonderful tobacco pipe smoking starter kit. The pipe is high-quality and draws smoothly. Also included are necessities like pipe cleaners, pipe tools, and the like. And it comes in a smart carrying pouch that will make you the envy of the neighborhood. It is modestly priced which further enhances its great value. You will need to order pipe tobacco separately, but otherwise you’ll be off to a great and relaxing smoke. Enjoy.

Let us journey through this review with each piece of the kit!-Canvas Roll-up Bag:Fantastic! Great for holding even a churchwarden (with the stem protruding slightly.)If it was JUST the canvas I would have still bought it. Rugged and stiff upon arrival, as waxed canvas should be, I cannot wait to break it in!-Pipe:Broken upon arrival, however the bowl was well made, and the stem was a bit cheap. But I have pipes already and it was not a total loss, and I hear their customer support is fantastic but I haven't felt the need as I thought the deal I received was more than adequate.-Pipe Holder:Beautiful and holds (almost) any pipe well.-pipe cleaner: is as advertised, the end bits are a little loose but that is me splitting hairs.- Czech Tool: cheap but sturdy. great for a starter or backup if you need one!- filters/screens: I personally don't use but I know the drop screens are awesome!My only gripe is that I wish instead of the 2 narrow long pockets for pipe cleaners there was a lighter and Czech tool pocket.

I bought this set mainly because of the pouch. I had already bought a Whitlock's beginner set previously and I really like it. It just didn't come with this fantastic pouch.Most of the pieces in these sets are the same, with exception of the leather pipe stand in this set. The other set has a metal stand. I also notice a slight difference it the pipe bowls. My other set is just a hair bit bigger, both inside diameter and outside. Not a big difference but this one is a little smaller. The finish is really close to the same but not identical. To me, this just proves that these pipes are indeed handmade and are very good quality. The weight of the pipes aren't too heavy, but they are not the lightest I have come across either. This is both good and bad. Good because they can handle the stress of a beginner like me smoking a little too hot. Bad because they sit heavy enough in the mouth that newbie's like me will want to clench a little harder than we probably should. It's all a learning experience for me, but no matter, the idea of this being good set for someone just starting out, is not off the mark. It gives you everything you need for the most part and provides you with a pipe that will no doubt last a long time. It's well worth the money and I'm sure it will be enjoyed by anyone looking at these items.

These are beautifully crafted well made pipes. They are heavy duty yet very elegant.. I had minor crack(real wood tends to have crack) with one pipe but the seller immediately sent me the replacement with no questions asked. Pipes work flawlessly and do not get very hot because of dense ebony wood which is nice if you smoke fast. These are one of the most beautiful and affordable pipes out there. Highly recommended for pipe lovers or even new folks getting in to pipe smoking hobby!!
Excellent craftmanship that has been almost lost.
I guess I'll say a few things about the pipe although I didn't buy this bag for the pipe. It's okay. It's made of ebony not Briar. I find it to be a suitable size but it does heat up when smoking and gets hot to hold. As I said, it's okay and I'll keep it and smoke it. Mine came damaged slightly as you can see in the first pic but nothing that affects its operation/function. I'll keep this pipe.As to the stand I think it's awesome. Unique and fitting for the style of this pipe case which is what I purchased. It functions and is rugged more than enough for it's purpose. The "extras" are everything you need, and more as I don't use the metal filters, to enjoy a good smoke. Now on to the purchase.The pouch is AWESOME!!! It's an old school design with real canvas that is stitched properly and securely and will last for years. It's like an old WWI Infantryman's pouch for his canteen, ammunition, or whatever he was carrying. It's solid. It's well designed and built. I LOVE this pouch and it will hold everything I need to travel with my pipe. The final picture is with 50g of tobacco in the zip pocket, the pipe, the holder, a lighter, cleaners and filters. It's a bit large but not unreasonable. You could tape it to your shoulder strap on a backpack or tuck in in a bag pocket knowing everything you need it collected, organized and protected. I highly recommend this bag.

Excellent quality product for an EDC
I was looking for a nice Pipe travel roll as an EDC. I looked at a lot of leather ones, but most were too big for me. This one is the perfect size for 2 pipes and all the accessories you will need if your gone for the day or even a weekend. The roll is a beautiful waxed canvas with pockets for everything you need. I more you use it, the more beautiful it will become. You won’t be disappointed! The pipe is good for a beginner pipe smoker, but you will move on to better quality pipes if you decide to pursue the hobby. It doesn’t break the bank to get into the hobby. I would recommend this product to any pipe smoker!
