I wasn’t really planning on spending this much for pieces alone (I do realize wooden sets get increasingly expensive with size and quality of craftsmanship, some ALOT more expensive than this one in particular especially when it comes to fuller sized sets such as this one, but at the same time i ain’t no baller. lol) but I really liked the design so I took a chance on it. And I have to say I was even more impressed with them in person. This is a quite stunning set with a very nice weight to it. This set has design elements I’ve never seen looking at many many chess sets. The Kings top shape really reminds of those medieval crowns with the velvet inside, The Queen’s is almost like a Staunton style but with a better crown imo, it’s very nicely designed. The Knights I recognized from a championship match (can’t remember which year specifically) and loved how distinct they looked compared to the more traditional Staunton style, they really stand out from the crowd! The Bishops remind me of the classic Bobby Fischer design not much to say there. The Rooks are beasty as hell! Excellently proportioned. The Pawns have very satisfying collars that match perfectly with the other collared pieces in the set.I would not be surprised in the least if you found yourself hard pressed to find a better looking and performing set of this size for the price.In summary if you have the spare money I’d surely recommend them. I doubt you’ll regret your purchase.

I normally don't leave reviews but I felt it was criminal for such a beautiful set to none (as of writing this) reviews. I was searching for a FIDE approved chess set but couldn’t find a set with such an extraordinary craftsmanship at this price. I am ordering a set for Christmas gift immediately and can’t wait to post a review about my experience.
