These plates do the job of a plate and by representation they will bio degrade. I haven't placed them in my compost yet as my pile isn't sufficiently developed to digest material of this type. I still am trying not to contribute to any more plastic in ourcenvironment.

I am elderly and don't like to wash many dishes so I use paper plates. I want them to hold up to what ever I put in them. I use them most every day. I've ordered them 4 times because they are really good. I use them to microwave in and I've used them even when I air fry with no problem. When I have air fried I stay and watch to make sure it doesn't catch on fire. I'm pretty sure the manufacturer didn't think someone would air fry in them but its been okay. I've only used them to air fry in for a couple of minutes. Wouldn't leave them for a long period of time.

They had a bit of a smell when first opening, that concerned me, worried they’d be smelly forever and affect the food, but the smell went away right away. And they have been great plates. Microwavable. Sturdy. Good size.

I thought they would be bigger but when I measured they are 9” but they’re more like 8” for the flat area.
