5.0 out of 5 stars Extra large fry pan and easy to clean!
Wow! This thing is big! You can cook a huge meal in it. I just got it, so have only used one time but I already love it! Like all non-stick pans, don’t use high heat, it will ruin it. I learned the hard way on another pan. Be patient and heat it up slow. Not too heavy and it has the helper handle which you really need on a pan this large. I was surprised at just how big it actually is. Great choice for someone with a large family.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nonstick works
Cooked eggs using a pad of butter, cooked hamburgers with their natural fat, cooked chocolate chip pancakes with a little vegetable oil. None of the items stuck to the surface of the skillet and all items cooked evenly. Did not wash in dishwasher. Used common dish detergent and warm water and wiped with a non-metal soft scouring pad. All items mentioned cleaned up with a simple wipe of the pan. Did not use aerosol sprays as recommended for best maintaining the integrity of the cooking surface. Totally satisfied.
5.0 out of 5 stars Workhorse of a pan
I bought this to replace a teflon coated saute pan that developed a hump in the middle (annoying as oil wouldn't stay in the middle). The ceramic coating is durable and better for your health than teflon. This pan is my go-to for all of my "one-pot meals" from chicken marsala to chili.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good pan
The pan is bigger than I expected, but does a great job of cooking food evenly and the pan is easy to clean by hand.
4.0 out of 5 stars Gotham Steel Nonstick Sauté Pan – 5.5 Quart.
Pros: These pans have a great non-stick surface, very little oil/butter is necessary when cooking with these. The pans heat evenly so food will cook equally on all surfaces of the pan. The pans wash up nicely with minimal effort.Cons: These pans have all metal handles. This is not an issue with the sauce pans or the frying pans, but the large pasta pot has 2 tiny, thin metal handles that do heat up when using this pot. Use with caution. The lids have a nice feature, they have a condensation trip around the inside rim of the lid, so when you lift the lid off while cooking you don't have to worry about splatter. The downside to this is that water gets trapped in this ring while you are washing the pans, making them difficult to dry. A minor inconvenience, but worth noting.I would strongly recommend NOT using metal utensils with these pans, no matter how they are advertised. It is possible that an upgraded set can handle metal utensils, but this set is not diamond coated. These pans arrived in a timely manner. However, one pan was damaged (minor damage, chip in the non-stick coating). I contacted customer service right away via email, and got an immediate response. Gotham Steel promised to ship out a new pan and that it would take 4-6 weeks for delivery. However, after 3 months and no new pan showed up, I had to reach out again via email and got an unsatisfactory response. After escalating my request for a replacement pan, I did finally receive one. These are a very nice set of pans for a very reasonable price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Sauté Pan
I received the entire set last year and love it. I was missing this sauté pan so recently purchased it to complete the set. It cleans up easily and heats food perfectly. I do not put them in the dishwasher, though it stated that you could. I don't wish to take chance though of it not performing like it currently does. I recently boiled water too long steaming veggies and burnt the bottom of the pan, only to discover that once soaked, there was no damage at all and it was very easy to clean. I had done this years ago with a different brand and had to throw that pot away. The only downside is hot hot the lids get due to the metal. That is not an issue overall compared to how well this brand of cookware works. I'm very pleased and do recommend.
1.0 out of 5 stars Overrated Trash
This pan is overrated trash, and this is me being polite. My family brought this pan separately after buying a complete Gotham Steel set (from another retailer) and having that initial pan scratch badly after only a few uses and thinking that must have been a fluke and buying this pan to replace the damaged one. The positive was that this pan was larger with deep sides, ideal for family style cooking. These are still the only positives associated with this pan. My family and I used this pan multiple times a week for cooking all types of items including scrambled eggs, pancakes, braised chicken, sautéing vegetables, and even homemade sauces and gravies. All instructions provided by the brand were followed, including avoiding high heat, and never using metal utensils. I purchased wooden spoons just to use on this pan. The pan never provided even heat distribution, even using on low could lead to sticking and because the heat distribution was so erratic you often couldn’t use the lid to let dishes simmer and flavor develop. From the beginning, the uneven heat distribution meant that almost everything put in the pan caused food to stick. Also, I have no dishwasher and the pan was always handwashed. Since food was always sticking this meant putting in a lot of extra effort, if you have any swelling issues or arthritis issues in hands or feet like I do you will quickly come to hate this pan.It is an absolute lie that you don’t need any cooking oil to use this pan, try that and watch the pan instantly burn. Other reviewers have noted that the pan is warped, this is true of the pan I received. Oil runs to the edges, and I had to try rolling it around the pan or using a paper towel to try and spread it out. This problem is probably the result of poor-quality control, warped pans should never have been sold to customers. The pictures from other reviewers showing the burnt/scratched bottoms are exactly what my pan looked like. I purchased my pan in January 2023, and trashed it by August. Also, in case you're wondering, the entire set has the same problems with uneven heat distribution and sticking, and I am replacing all of them.
5.0 out of 5 stars The absolute best
I love gotham steel anything worth your money works wonders no stick is perfect and ease to use and love cooking with it
Pan
Great just don't use on very high heat as stared ,works great
Non stick as stated
I love the Gotham Steel pots & pans. They are non stick, they last and they are lightweight which for me is important. I also like the fact this pan has the smaller handle on opposite sides. This helps to lift it when the pan has food in it. My only complaint is the handle on the lid gets very hot. Note to manufacturer- a strip of silicone on it would be helpful
Uneven heat, bottom bowed, sticks
It over heats in the center because it’s too thin. So food gets burned easily and then sticks, ruining the pan. It started sticking within two uses. Not the centre of the pan is warped making it worse. It’s a piece of junk and I’m buying another brand.
Love It
This is awesome. Nice and big, easy to clean, non stick. It’s great for any kitchen!
Very Great Pan
Love this pan for " wok " style cooking. Light and easy to use. Fast heating up and speedy clean up.Highly recommend
