I purchase these bags to use them specifically for throwing the organic trash into them along some newspaper and throw it away in the Green can as new state (California) laws have determined. Not sure they agree with this method so don't copy it I just did it remembering a compost class.However lately I decided instead to bury them in my backyard so they become my own compost.They are not very thick, but at the same time not as easy to tear just happened to me every now and then on regular handling, and it doesn't matter because of it's intended use.Overall I think they work well for whatever that will not require them to be heavily used. Regular use works fine.

Packed lunches for science camp at our church. great for a sandwich, chips, small desert, and small juice.as FYI if your looking for a lunch bag that is considered "regular" size, this is not what you want. Worked great for us, and we will have enough for next year.
